Safe to update to 3.55 ??

Ok, due to all the recent developments, it appears that downgrading 3.55 to 3.41 will soon be possible. Even though custom FW's may soon even make that obsolete, correct?

With that in mind I am jonsing to update to 3.55 just so I can get Marvel Pinball. Would it be safe for me to do so without hampering the ability to run homebrew in the future. I have held off on upgrading so far at 3.41 but still havent invested in a jig.

Backups are not important to me, only homebrew such as emu's and XBLA or VLC(plz let this happen!).

Any rational feedback is appreciated

I'm interested in know this too because I'm on 3.31 (Something like that) and I'm not sure of whether to update to 3.55 or 3.41?

until u can downgrade from 3.55 (if u care), when more games work via direct boot, and when some bum's get redone for 3.55 i would hold off on updating.

just my opinion tho.

Seems the Mods are being careful while the trial is going on...I'll bet it will be back if and when the trial is won. There are other sites that are carrying the latest CFW and homebrew info tho...just search Google for "PS3 Hacks" or "PS3 CFW"
