Dead space 2 review

Dead space 2 has finally arrived but does it live up to the hype and horror of the first one?

I could barely even play Fear 1 with out turning all the lights in my room on or atleast having some one with me. I dont play horror games often so im Not used to things popping out of corners or Dead bodies getting up and stabing you in the face.



Theres plenty of that in Visceral Games newest title dead space 2. Dead space 2 is the sequel to the scifi survival horror game dead space 1 , a game that stood out for its story,horror,and grussom kills/deaths.All of this still exists in dead space 2 and its better then ever. There is plenty new content in dead space 2 like new weapons bigger scarier monsters and a new setting.



[story]
Dead space 2 takes place in the sprawl an orbiting space station built on what used to be Saturn’s moon Titan, before the planet mining became so intensive that only a sliver of rock is left as the city’s foundation. The atmosphere of this settings adds to the suspence and horror of the game.In dead space 2 isac beleaves he has a solutin to the necromorph outbreak , isac desides to put away hes troubled past and decend into this deathly station. the story is pretty but what dead space 2 has over its predessor is the lack of backtracking.

Im sure most of you remember how you had to come back down the same hallway to turn on a switch or find a battery. You still need to do some of these tasks but you wont find your self retracing your steps down the same elevater or hallway over and over gain. The development team did a great job in setting the mood and points of action for the game this makes the game enjoyable and entertaining unlike some other horror games witch made you whant to fall asleep from all the random walking around or trying to find that one door that took you to the next check point. The game had me attached the whole time with perfect scares and interesting plots.

The art desing for the game is horrifying but beutifull. Isacs suit is well designed and with each upgrade it just looks better and better , the necromorph are also well designed with their discusting faces torn boddies and broken limbs. The sprawl may not be a nice place to spend a space vacation in but it sure looks nice with nicely designed walls to how all the buildings look when flying down to them.



[gameplay]
Not much has changed since the first dead space, veterans should feel right at home with the botton scheme. There are some improvements like the way you can recharge your stasis or health by pressing a button,the better melee system, or isacs improved rocket boots. Besides this nothings really changed from the first game. The game feels smooth with a cinematic feel to it due to the perfect placement of enemies,interactions,and story peaks.

Dead space 2 has a couple of features to keep th eplayer interested and not making them sell the game after a playtrough. For one thing players may whant to replay the game on a harder difficulty to unlock some achivements/trophys and who knows maybe theres a secret ending waiting for you at the end if you beat the game on the hardest difficulty.
There is also a multiplayer component to the game that should keep players bussy for some time after completing the story.The multiplayer isnt anything special but it isnt bad either,its pretty fun if you play with some cool people or friends it sorta feels like multiplayer in left for dead.There are two teams the humans and the necromorph and the objective is bassicaly for the humans to survive and for the necramorph to kill them.

Dead space 2 is and amazing sequal that lives up to its predessor giving players an awsome horror game unlike some other sequals i know cough cough re5 witch arent even scary in any way. Sure there might be some some slack here and there but you can over look this and still enjoy the game. I really do recomend picking this tittle up even if your new to dead space you wont regret it and hey you might relive child memories by peen your pants.

nice review, one thing though, you didnt say in the title or in the review which system your review is for, if its online or offline, if the online is any good, any worrying loadtimes or installs required, things like that which may effect someones buying decision.

i did mention about the multiplayer how it felt like left 4 dead and how it wasnt anything special and i gave details about it its in the features section of the review. and about the system i have it for both so i didnt knwo what to put so i jsut did a overall review and i didnt whana start a fanboy war in the comments saying ooo this versions better so i left the systems out imo tought it was a good idea lol

For anyone that has this game, is the multi player still active that finding games are easy? I waited to get this game so I could read reviews and wait for a price drop but I fear by the time I get it that no one will play it online anymore

Heck yeah, Dead Space 2 is just as scary as the first one, though I miss the long tentacles that would grab you and drag you along the floor
