Sounds like Nintendo will most likely have a service like this in the future.
theres no reason why nintendo couldnt do it. even sony could do it, but they chose not to emulate xbl in its entirety for some reason. i suppose they couldnt pull it off now maybe next gen. m$ is and always will be one step ahead of the other competitors for console gaming. next round we will see nintendo and sony offering a pay to play online service with likely a very very limited free online service.
All those ideas are very likely
but there is one other option
Nintendo and M$ doing a joint console next gen?
If Nintendo had accepted sony's offer all those years ago we would have had a nintendo playstation
imagine it now Microsoft's on-line infrastructure and exclusives on a Reliable nintendo console, with nintendo's innovation and xbox's graphical output
never gonna happen but it would be game set and match in the console war
If Sony and Nintendo was going to make a pay to play service I would not subscribe just like I would not subscribe to Live.
