we now know the Xbox One's game licensing policy was written from the ground up for companies. It's aggressively anti-consumer and anti-middle class, and it outright ignores underprivileged gamers. It's gross, despicable, greedy, pathetic, cowardly and out of touch with a growing global resentment for corporations. - Polygon 7th June 2013
Well never looked into family pass as I do not pay to play fullstop or buy dlc that should have been on the disc. Have bought dlc but that was burnout who earned my money from good game support and dlc clearly not left off the disc but further developed. I just think when the baby is old enough its more like a new console each year for live so if it becomes universal then I will steer my kids away from gaming and go all retro myself.
well as a retro gamer you know my feelings about the value of any dlc whatsoever so i'd never PAY for any nor would i ever rebuy something i already bought retail, but you do at least have the choice of using psn, thats something sony took away from me for no reason at all so that leaves me with 2 options, pay ms to have even the most basic of online services which i do twice, the kids have to share the two between them but as they only have 2 360's to play (the flashed and jtaged ones are "mine") on thats fine or use wiiconnect, if you've ever fought friend codes you'll appreciate why i grudgingly pay ms, its not that the wii's online service is bad for playing, its just that so few games support online play, that said i'm a huge fan of social gaming so personally feel that online gaming is the devils spawn and is just there so lazy and greedy devs can rely on other paying users to provide the entertainment rather than spend the time and money doing the programming to entertain us.
