we now know the Xbox One's game licensing policy was written from the ground up for companies. It's aggressively anti-consumer and anti-middle class, and it outright ignores underprivileged gamers. It's gross, despicable, greedy, pathetic, cowardly and out of touch with a growing global resentment for corporations. - Polygon 7th June 2013
As an unbiased xbox fan I am suprised at the success of the kinect. I always thought this would fail and the move would have a chance... honestly.
i have to say i agree completely, yes, ok, i do have a kinect but only for the laugh, i'd much prefer to have been able to buy a move (sony dont allow me to play games on my ps3 so no point) although i guess i'm just happy that i already have the superior wii m+ remotes.

Who would know that Kinect would be this hot?
Not only that, but a camera control sold alot more than PS3 Move. PS3 Move is not as good as Wii with Motion+, and PS3 dont even have motion controll on the Navicon.. Could be why it did worse.
I have PS3 Move+Navicon, but not Kinect. I will get Kinect later.
My ps3 is way better then yours.

i think really only xbox fanboys thought it would sell, with the move system only ps3 fanboys seemed to think it was all things to all men although i do think its better than kinect (which i do own) but still missing too much to compare it to the wii m+ setup.
(dont own move as my ps3 isnt compatible and move games dont work)

reason for buying kinect = move is not compatible with my ps3 thanks to a certain set of criminals removing my ability to play anything released after 1st april 2010.
i only got the thing a week or so ago and even then only because i was able to buy it new at a price i thought it was worth (a lot less than even a 1 player move setup), put it this way i got it retail with 2 games for under £60

Looks like the billion dollar advertisement campaign paid off for MS. No surprises that if you going to spend that much money on advertisements to shove in people's faces that it would garantee to sell. It doesn't mean the device is better then another. I betcha the people who are buying these are your average mums and dads who knows nothing about games. They will be sorry when they find out their room isnt big enough for Kinect or that Kinect causes the Xboxes to RROP and dies. I expect there will be lots of returns.
Congrats Microsoft for contributing a new gaming experience and further expanding this gen with wii. Enjoy your spot in the world records its well deserved.

I thought Kinect had very limited appeal and wouldn't sell.. very wrong.
No doubt it's the most returned gadget of all time too. Congrats to MS for not contributing to a new gaming experience, this has been done before on the PS2 PS3, Wii, and DS. None of it's claimed success is deserved.

oh yeah lets not forget... th MJ game that actually is based on singing and dancing.
what did MJ say about move?
Just beat it...beat it....![]()
At first i didnt think kinect would work like it does. I was skeptical of the new tech.
Im be honest. You can go back when kinect launched and i said i wasnt getting it. Then i got it as a gift and was shocked!!! I know it doesnt work perfect for everyone and thats sad. because when it does setup it works great and is a blast!
Ill admit people that saw wii at my house 90% went and got 1. Then people that saw kinect at my house went and got 1 of those as well. It works great its a ton of fun and a good workout. After seeing the way it works and actually playing it myself and having it setup at parties, im not shocked at all its sold like wild fire.
Hopefully 3rd party devs have used the time to learn the tools to make a kinect game as its a good opportunity to make some money in a fresh market looking for more games.
But microsoft deserves alot of credit for seeing what they had with kinect and really getting behind it.
As its a major deal that wii blasted xbox 360 and ps3 (about combined sales) out the water. Kinect sales and make the world record is a major accomplishment. props to them for that!
