I have changed hard drive but now loader not working.

I wanted a bigger external hard drive, so I fat32 format then copied old hard drive info across, wfbs , apps folder.

Boot the wii, start USB loader from home brew channel or desk top I have issues.

My theme epic Mickey loads. But inca different way I have no loading menus.
I put a disc I'n and push plus it sees the game but says my hard drive is full bit it is not.

I have 100 games I'n wfbs folder but here it sees nothing

    Any ideas.

What usb loader do you use? Was the drive WBFS before and did you copy and config files over from a WBFS drive?

It shows on screen as configurable USB loader. And I just dragged from one hard drive to another all the files.

Thinking it would be that simple.

I have blanket the original hard drive now

So I hope I have not got to start from scratch again with ripping the wfbs files

Maybe relevant that I added all the files to the hard drive via the loader direct

Bugger, working with PS3 and wii I got confused I think, just used a straight fat 32 drive, I can't remember when I did my wii but I have forgotten reading your mail formatting to wfbs.

If I drag games off to hard drive ,reformat drive to wfbs , then back on will it work?

Honestly, I have only ever dealt with a WBFS drive on my wii for games so I cant say for sure.

You can use WBFS files in at least wbfs backup manager, so you can just backup everything and format to wbfs if you want.

    Fat32 prefered

    I tried using wfbs manager
    And booted but no go,

So I think it maybe the hard drive

So going back to the old drive.

If this fails, how do you uninstall. Is it via the home browser click on delete rather than load.

I think if it's not the hard drive it's the Mickey theme as with no hdd it starts no problems, with the hdd the theme fails to load properly.

When I do push plus it finds the disc though but says only .2gb left wether fat32 or wfbs

    1. Try usb loader GX
    2. Try using hermes CIOS 222 (make sure to select this option in the usb loader settings).

Does the drive have to be FAT32?

An alternative method could be to make two partitions one wbfs and another FAT32. Or you could just back it up, reformat and manually put the games back on using a PC and a manager which supports WBFS files.

    Progress

Have made progress, there was 3 partitions on the drive. It errored when loading but I could select the right path. But too long winded so back to working on it again,

    I ran diskmgmt.msc
    Removed 1 partition
Reformated the 299gb to fat 32
Then the 1gb is oem partition and I can delete, I can make raw or NDEA.

But I want delete or merge it

    Any ideas

    use gparted instead.

    edit:

Just had another idea, backup all your games to wbfs files, reformat the drive to FAT32 (all of it) using gparted) and then place the wbfs files in the wbfs folder.

I just googled around and apparently FAT32 has become better supported since I started (or at least other forums have more information on it), even I may switch now.

I have it going on fat32 but can't get the hard drive as one, and after USB load fails I have to reselect the partion manually each time. Just a powerful deleting tool to merge them or hide one

Have you thought about just deleting the partitions and starting again?
