Question about Wasabi DX

I have a Japanese Wii, and I just want to make it region free so I can play non-Japanese games on it too. Is installing the wasabi all that's required, or do I also gotta download homebrew or other stuff?

As of system menu 4.2 you MUST softmod to make it region free.

If I recall (and I may be wrong) "softmoding" refers to just installing a modchip without any soldering right? So if I am 4.2 I just need to install the modchip and that's it?

No.

Softmodding is when you running a software mod.

Any form of mod chip is a hard mod.

As of 4.2 all modchip region change capabilities are useless.

To hack 4.2 you need an sd card (recommend 1gb or more).
