    Are there any unhackable Wiis?

Sorry for the newb question but I been out of the scene for a while now. I have a launch Wii which I modded a while back with no problems and is still running today. I also have another Wii which is LU64+ which I modded also but can't read DVD-R backups but can run off of the hard drive.

Now the reason I ask is because I haven't hacked a Wii in over a year and a relative of mine wants me to mod their Wii which they bought about 2 or 3 weeks ago (Black Wii) so I wanted to know is it possible. Are they still hackable?

    Thanks in advance!

If you just want a basic softmod, there is no unhackable wii (except the optional though if possible recommended 'Bootmii as boot2' which is for backup purposes). However, the method used to hack it depend on the system menu.

System 4.2 and below can use bannerbomb (it just needs an SD card, no game), system 4.3 though does require a game to hack it (can provide more details if needed).

Thanks for the response. I have never used letterhomb and will be sure to try it out. I have another question. I have a launch wii and I want to know if I can update it even though it is soft modded? What will happen if I use the official update? Will it brick my Wii?

If you have to update... "WiiBrew recommends that you run the latest version of the HackMii Installer (vs. 0.8 is the latest) and then optionally update your Wii to 4.3 using Nintendo's official updater." I did that because I wanted a game from the shop channel, so I had to update. It worked fine.

i used dop mii to update my 3.4e wii, its still on 3.4e but runs everything including the shop channel, and trucha signed discs. that said it cant use sdhc cards and at some pint i screwed up and broke its ability to use usb devices on backups (although neogamma still works fine with a wbfs hdd, things like the wiimotion camera and mic's will only work with originals, i was gutted because its rendered my sing it star collection useless, i've recently acquired a 4.0e wii so i'm going to have another go with that using bannerbomb.
