they should have gone with the amd graphics instead to make it easier for developers to make the games in multiplatform.

I don't think either GPU OEM was as much of an issue (thanks to APIs), however other things are e.g. the CPU, bandwidth, buses, etc.

Its not a complication really, CUDA has been around since the 8xxx series GeForce and many games use CUDA for various things, primarily PhysX but the potential is endless. From extremely fast video encoding/decoding/upscaling through advanced game AI to fluid simulations.

If the PS4 does indeed have some monster CUDA enabled GPU, the one feature I KNOW they will add is ray-tracing rendering of replays, imagine an awesome Gran Turismo replay render with ray-tracing and exported to video - lifelike replays to brag online :P

i'd have thought that going amd would have been a better idea. there isn't much performance wise between the amd and nvidia, but amd has been smiting nvidia on both price/performance and performance per watt for a while now.

be interesting if all 3 console makers go amd for their new consoles (microsoft have been rumoured to be going amd with the next xbox also).

As long as they don't jerry rig a GPU into their next console at the last minute like they did with the PS3; it should be good.

if couldn't care if it was a Gold plated PS4... I will not be buying one until they are discounted and I know what I am buying, ie what features it has and if they will remain on the device or if it will be removed at a later date...

by making another insanely hard to learn dev kit, that takes yrs to get anything good from!

cuz i heard making programmers jobs have a retarded learning curve to squeeze power out of a system is a really good idea.

ATI was once the way to go but NVIDIA is superior to ATI in every way except for price but then ATI prices aren't exactly that much cheaper either.

For the last three generations nvidia has been behind ATi in terms of performance and price.
