new games on psp ask for 6.20 update

hi all,
i'm a complete noob with a psp and had it for years and thought nothing of it as played homebrew games and official umd's no problem, until now.i have a fat psp with firmware 1.5 & sys s/ware 3.40 oe-a.
I recently got given a couple of games and the psp won't let me play them until i upgrade to sys s/ware 6.20 which obviously i don't want to as this will scupper the homebrew. can someone give me an idiots guide as to what to do to allow the psp to play recently released games over the past few years.
your help is much appreciated.

Ok. You are in an old firmware. There are many many passages. But is easier that you think.

I use X:/ letter to indicate your memory stick letter. It obviously is different from your. Can be D:, E:, F:,

From 3.40 oe-a install 3.52 M33

1 - You are under any Special/Open Edition/M33, copy M33CREATOR folder to your "ms0:/PSP/GAME" (1.50fw) or "X:/PSP/GAME150" (SE/OE)
2 - Download official 3.52 eboot, (http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=1209)rename it to 352.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
3 - Download official 1.50 eboot, rename it to 150.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "X:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
4 - Go to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33 CREATOR". Once finished, it will go back to the XMB.
5 - Go again to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33UPDATE". You'll have to press X to agree to the installation.
6 - When finished, press X to shut down and reboot manually.
7 - Enjoy your 3.52 M33

(If Psp Say "The game could not be started. Error (80020148)" do so:
Force turn off Psp. Press and hold press "R" button while turn on the psp.
Now you are in "Recovery menu".
Go on "configuration" and press "X" button.
Now go on "Game folder homebrew" and set it on "(currently: 1.50 Kernel)".
Put "M33Update4" folder in "GAME150" and run update. (X:/PSP/GAME150/M33UPDATE4/EBOOT.BPB)

Install 5.00 M33

- Copy the UPDATE folder into /PSP/GAME/
- Get the 5.00 sony update from here (http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=1568), and put it in same folder, with name "500.PBP".
- Run it, the update will be done by Sony updater. At the end when you are asked to reboot the
PSP pressing X or O, do it.

Install 1.50 Addon This if fundamental to run your homebrew!.

Get the 1.50 sony update from here (http://www.psp-ita.com/?module=fileview&file_id=258 Go to link, wait 60 seconds, and after will appear download botton. Click on it to download 1.50 firmware.), and rename it in 150.pbp. Put in root of Memory Stick.
Copy folder called "150k_installer" to X:/PSP/GAME5XX and run on psp.

Prometheus-4 for 5.00 M33-6 Installing this, you can run all lastest games.

Put folder 5.00_Prometheus in X:/PSP/GAME. an run on psp.

Now finally you can run your 1.50 old homebrew and lastest games.

hi xenogears v,
managed no problem to update to 3.52 M33 update 4, i copied the 5.00 m33 file no problem & the 500.pbp file to psp/game file.when it unpacks it can't find the 500.pbp file and the psp sits at please wait.i'm using the right file and its in the same file as 5.00m33, any thoughts???

it reads the 500.pbp file now and comes up with an id storage deterioration error x00000060 and switches back to xmb???installed keycleaner and the above has cleared but now as the s/ware starts to instal it now says the sys config of this psp system does not appear to be correct, the plot thickens,i've even tried re-formatting the pro dou to no avail????

This is very very strange. Is the first time I read a thing of kind. I have noticed that rapidsahre link is dead. Maybe you have got some demaged packet.
