I have a hard drive from an old (fat) XBOX, which I want to put in a new slim XBOX.
Unfortunately my son connected the HDD up to his PC and formatted it to NTFS, so now the new XBOX does not recognise it.
I have tried reformatting it to FAT32, but it still is not recognised.
Is there some data that needs putting back on the drive, that tells the XBOX that it is a XBOX hard drive?
Can anyone advise me how to get the XBOX to recognise the drive, so it can be used again. We do not have any back-up data, but dont mind having a completely empty drive, as long as it works.
Is there a way to restore this original 120GB Hitachi Xbox drive to factory settings, so that the Xbox recognises it?
I thought about hddhackr, but believe that only sorts out Western Digital drives and not an original one.
Does it involve hddss.bin files and if so do are they matched to serial numbers, since I dont have the original?
