    Forza 4 unrecognized disc

There seems to be a lot of posts about this on the Forza forums which keep getting locked by mods there. Basically, my disc will be initially read 50% of the time, 25% of the time it'll throw up a read error on starting the game, and the other 25% of the time the game will just hang. I've not even managed to install this to HDD either.
I've done the usual clean the DVD, and even swapped it out back at the store. All my other games load and play fine. Now what is interesting is this is on a Halo Reach limited edition slim that's replacing an Elite with an intermittent RROD. This old 360 will install the game fine and run it (when the actual console runs). From what I've been reading this issue seems to happen across the board of console versions too (it's not just one model of the 360). A lot of fingers seem to be pointing to the new copy protection on the Forza 4 disc. Some people are stating that this issue is flagging up on LIVE as a piracy attempt and resulting in bans. I'm wondering if the recent dash update to incorporate this copy protection isn't being installed correctly on some consoles.
Anyway, anyone else here having this issue?

you are an isolated case therefore you wont find it easy to get the right answer.

its not that isolated, its all over the net with people even getting banned because it fails their security checks (which are on the extreme edge of the disc beyond what the drives were supposed to read, its pot luck much like the dual layer issue on the wii, except of course ms wont sort out the problem for free like nintendo do.

If you complain hard enough M$ will swap out your 360 unit with a newer model, if they detect it is drive that one that has a history of reading problems.

There is number of drives, which can't fully support the 'extra data' added onto the DVD disc, just like some PS1 models have problems with 80 minute games over the previous 74 minute ones, and even worse near the end of "Audio-CD" with your music box not accepting the 99minute discs.

i get results from google search FORZA 4 DISC READ ERROR but when i start reading the threads etc i dont see many people complaining about the same prob,in terms of sheer numbers its definately a isolated case, there would be a lot more people posting saying they had the same prob here seeing as theres lots of users with 360s,where are they, its isoltaed incident.

    heres the google result:

Thanks for the replies guys. Like I said, it seems to just hit random 360s. The half dead Elite is fine with the DVD I have that the slim struggles with. Knowing my luck the slim I've got has a drive with a laser that won't read the new format for some reason. I imagine if I picked up an new drive for the slim it'd be fine. I'm still waiting to hear anything back from MS on this though.
I did strip the HDD from my slim and plugged it into the Elite and installed Forza 4 from that fine. I then plugged the drive back into the slim and have managed to do the odd race or two, but it's still locking up most of the time. What annoys me the most is I traded in my copy of Forza 3 against 4, so now can't play Forza at all!

its only £7 for a pre owned copy or £12 for a collectors edition (with the usb stick and keyring) + £2.50 shipping if you opt to buy online if you need a forza 3 fix.

If I well understand, You are playing with a beckup copy. If you use a "truncate" backup, game can flag your console tahnks to civ protection. Only solution to play a backup copy of this game, is burn it to 100% with a specific liteon burners and flash firmware with iextreme burn firmware.

I am also a victim of the Forza 4 Unrecognized disc reading...I have the original white 360 and unrecognized disc pop up's at the beginning or before season race...All my other games work with no problem.
