Unable to update Xbox 360 Dashbord

I haven't played my Xbox 360 in awhile. So to my surprise after months I log on live makes me download the kinect dash. Then all of my backups stop working. So I reflash my drive and then all is well.. Then a feweeks later another update.. Now I get some code stating I can't update my box.. go microsoft website and get this general message about my Xbox being tampered with thus the reason why the update won't go through...I have never played any of my backups on live! Now I was getting ready for MW3 and of course the system needs an update to play the freaking game!!!! I then try an offline update using the USB stick...the exact same result...so I know it's not a MS server stopping the dash upgrade. MS has enabled some sort of flag in the kinect dashboard to disable all upgrades if reflashing of the DVD drive has occurred after the initial download of the kinect dashboard! Does anyone know how to get around this?

Simple flash drive back to stock, upgrade then reflash

is the drive spoofed,if its spoofed you need the original version drive in there.

i have seen this a few times now,if the fw didnt need to be returned back to the original stock it was because the drive was spoofed,the people tried to take the update off live also.

I figured it out.. Since my box got updated to 2.0xxx version the firmware on the drive got updated as well. So the new dash was looking for the new firmware. When I went to update I had the OG firmware on the drive instead of that new Kinect firmware.. Found the kinect firmware online and flashed it to my drive then I was able to update.
