Are other retailers going to follow, or is this Nintendo's way to kill Vita totally!
GameStop normally never takes a price cut on hardware on their own, so alot of signs are pointing to Nintendo making the first move towards PlayStation Vita launching in the North America marketplace
Nintendo 3DS has a rough time when it first launched, just like PlayStation Vita is having now in Japan, with Nintendo outselling the Vita at times more then 8 to 1 ever week.
But can Nintendo keep up the race in being #1 in the hot North America market when Vita launches over there in a couple of weeks, while it just might be that Nintendo is going to do another price cut, not as massive as the first one but the $20 savings that GameStop is now offering on their website, just might be enough to make sure future handheld buyers pick up a 3DS over the Vita this month.
NEWS SOURCE: 3DS price drops to $150 right before Vita launch (via) GamesRadarOur brief research has proven that competing mega-retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Wal-Mart are still charging $169.99 for a new unit.
In the US Nintendo is launching a new pink unbundled 3DS system in three days, which would be a great time to reveal a shocking, last minute price cut.
Perhaps The N is letting Stop in on the new MSRP a little early, but we bet it’s only a matter of time before every US store will reflect that price.
Nintendo is playing hardball with Sony and this clearly appears to be a big move to overshadow the Vita’s upcoming launch that begins with early bundles on 2/15 and a full launch on 2/22.
Our thanks to 'Stevetry' for this hot news tip!
