You will be able to track them and get the game for free
A stunning maneuver in PR events. The games will be tied to air balloons and will reach the upper layers of the atmosphere.
Yes, you read it right. EA wants to be the next NASA and to promote the upcoming Mass Effect 3 they have preparing nothing but a space launch!
Several copies of the game will reach almost the space thanks to air balloons aid. Eventually, the balloons will pop and the games will start falling back to the earth. Each game contains a GPS device to track it and the coordinates can be seen in EA's website for all the treasure hunters out there. The lucky ones will be playing Mas Effect 3 days before its official release.
From USAToday:
OFFICIAL SITE: http://masseffect.com/Publisher Electronic Arts will be launching copies of the game into space using weather balloons that will be released in New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris.
Each game has a GPS tracking device onboard and fans can track their return to the Earth on masseffect.com to find a copy and play it a week or more before the game hits stores. (Might not be a bad idea to follow @MassEffect, either.)
In other Mass Effect news, a new trailer for the game will be shown during AMC's TV series The Walking Dead Sunday at 9 p.m./ 8 p.m. CT.
