Exclamation MS PR Boss: 'No new Xbox at [this year] E3'

Seems we will have to wait until next year?

Microsoft wants you to forget about the Next Xbox recent rumors. There won't be a new Xbox reveal at E3 2012.

According to Bloomberg, Microsoft's head of corporate PR David Dennis said the company plans to debut the New Xbox in 2013 at earliest, and it won't be revealed at this year E3.

“There will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon,” Dennis wrote today in an e-mailed statement. He declined to say when Microsoft would release the next model. “For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360.”
Well, nobody knows if they will change their minds in the upcoming months. But at least this is an official statement. Or perhaps, this is an evil plan so they can surprise us at this E3?

Yeah, even if it wasn't going to be launched this year I would be showing something just to spoil the Wii-U's thunder a little.

Not sure how wise it is to say nothing and let Nintendo have a "free" year.

its a fine line, if you were in sonys position then just before the 3ds launch made a lot of sense to start promoting vita to spoil the launch, but in the home market its different, nintendo announced last year and its all but destroyed wii sales, if ms or sony announced either at this years e3 or just prior to the wii u launch then yes, it would spoil the wii u launch but on the downside with the 360 and pos3 selling pretty well it would run the risk of destroying those sales just before that all important xmas season, unless of course one of them have another "$599 giant enemy crab" moment in which case their current model may be safe but it wouldnt affect the wii u either.

But the boring this is that this means there is no way the next Xbox can be released anytime soon. Christmas 2013 at the earliest.
Unless they try to do an Apple. "This is the new Xbox. Available in stores... TODAY!".

One last holiday season, yeah thats one angle on it and probably what they are thinking as well and probably its mostly right.

What I was feeling is that the market is pretty much at saturation right now. 60 million 360's and 60 million PS3's (my guess on the numbers don't take them as gospel.) Wii is closing in on 90 million units sold. Really how many more systems are going to sell this gen?

At some point you have to bite the bullet and do what it takes to fight your competition! Sacrifice those end of life sales in the hopes it turns into future sales!

in that cae e3 2013 then summer / xmas launch would be ideal but would still give nintendo free reign for at least 9 months.
