A job offer listed at Canonical, the maker of the popular Ubuntu Linux distros, suggests that they are looking for peopleto work on a new operating system for Smartphones. Thet text is not so clear so this could just be the way they are referring to the already announced Ubuntu for Android.

Role summary

Canonical is seeking a business development lead to engage and develop strong relationships with industry partners in the run up to the launch of Ubuntu as a smartphone operating system.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding professional in the smartphone ecosystem with experience of engaging with both handset manufacturers and telco operators.

Has any more information on this surfaced? I'd love to see a Ubuntu version on smart phones. Or at least a voip compatible version. I wouldn't mind having faxing capabilities either.
