Exclamation Nintendo EU Hardware Sales: Wii is beating Vita!

    Plus US and Japanese sales.

Nintendo just released their official graphic Hardware sales chart on the Investors Meeting held last night...

At the Nintendo's Investor Meeting held last night, the company shared some tibits, related to the Wii U and the upcoming 3DS Software. Also, they released a series of graphic charts showing off the EU, US and Japan Hardware sales.

The big surprise here is that, Wii is beating VITA in Europe!

Nintendo told investors last night that Sony's PlayStation 3 is leading the race in European console adoption, with the number of units snapped up exceeding sales of its own 3DS handheld, as well as those of Microsoft's Xbox 360.

The company's data, revealed at a Ninty investor conference this week, shows Sony sold between 50,000 and 100,000 units for each week in 2012. The 3DS lags behind with between 30,000 and 50,000 units, while Xbox 360 rocks up in third, despite leading the way at one point earlier this year.

Microsoft's machine has averaged less than 50,000 units since February.
And here are the Japanese and US charts!

The Japanese market is a different story, with the 3DS dominating the popularity chart.

Over there it sells between 65,000 and 120,000 units a week, while the PS3 amassed just 70,000 at its peak. The Xbox 360 console is unpopular to say the least, barely registering on the graph.

In the US, of course, the tables are turned, and the Xbox 360 leads the pack with between 65,000 and 100,000 weekly unit sales. The PS3 sits in second peaking at 90,000, and the 3DS is playing catchup with between 40,000 and 70,000 sales.

The Japanese firm has high hopes that its forthcoming Wii U console will boost the company's fortunes and take total units of Wii consoles sold beyond the 10m mark for the fiscal year ahead.

i wish they used the same scale in each chart.

btw wth happened in the usa to cause that "hump" across all formats?

vita seems to be doing ok in the usa so i guess that means wall to wall fps games since neither japan or the eu region are interested in it

just noticed, somehow these graphs have been photo edited to remove the source details for the numbers, they were as follows eu - nintendo, japan - media create and usa - npd. so i guess one of the source websites was being a little naughty ,

You are right! I used the ones on the news source website linked above! Didn't notice they removed a bit until now! lol

And yeah, VITA seems to be doing alright in the US... which is pretty weird, I thought it was doing its best in Europe, as there's a lot of PS3 love in there.

This is not good as comparison, because Wii is a table console and price is not the same.

yes but the wii is all but dead and at the very end of its life with its replacement being announced last summer at e3 2011 so comparing it to a fairly new console that isnt supposed to be dead does have its merits.

Best guess as to what that spike in sales in the US is... I am thinking that maybe wives and girlfriends might have been buying game systems for boyfriends for Valentines Day? Or maybe the other way around? Or maybe more peoples birthdays are in that month then any other? lol
