Exclamation Max Payne 3 DLC content scheduled

    Maps and Rockstar Pass revealed

Rockstar has just announced the DLC calendar for the upcoming Max Payne 3

Rockstar has informed us via press release that Max Payne 3 will have a long list of DLC content that will be available progressively after its release. They have announced the name and date of several DLC packs as well as the Rockstar Pass which gives you full access to those.

Here is the PR with all the info:

Today we're happy to announce Max Payne 3 downloadable content plans with a full lineup of multiplayer content planned for release this summer and beyond, starting with the Local Justice Map Pack coming in June. Players will also be able to order the Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass to get all of the upcoming DLC at a special discounted rate, compared to purchasing each pack individually. Starting today, the Rockstar Pass can be pre-ordered for Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network from Best Buy or GameStop in the United States (or pre-ordered for PSN directly from the PlayStation Store).

The Rockstar Pass grants you access to all upcoming Max Payne 3 DLC and will be available for 2400 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE), or $29.99 (PlayStation Network and PC) – over a 35% discount compared to purchasing the content individually. Once purchased, the Rockstar Pass enables gamers to download all DLC releasing through the end of 2012 via the in-game store as soon as it is made available on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, or PC.

The Local Justice Map Pack, coming in June, will include the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer multiplayer modes. The pack will also feature two additional maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, new precinct-themed multiplayer avatar items, multiplayer challenges, and more.

Check out the current release schedule (individual release dates and pricing info will be announced soon) for Max Payne 3 downloadable content packs below and stay tuned for additional packs to be revealed at a later date:

I never knew that Rockstar was going to make such a huge emphasis on multiplayer. Max Payne never had any sort of multiplayer components... just pure campaign.

They are not exactly experienced enough to be creating Season passes.

GTAIV was a good start... but they got a long ways to go before they can feel confident enough to be considered an MP developer.

Anything is done to make it possible for DLC now.

At the rate games are stripped down and DLC comes out, I figure games should be FREE or like $5 max. and you just keep buying DLC each month.

It a shame Max Payne 3 going to be $60 or more right at the pop, and then month later, DLC to purchase, then more DLC, then more DLC.

The first max paynes I finished in no time at all, how long will this single-player take, it was bad enough Halo 3 was only 3 hours to complete....

    I truly enjoyed Max Payne 1 & 2.

Hopefully 3 will be another delight.

The only DLC season pass I bought was for Gears of War 3. Because I know from past experience that its worth getting new maps/campaign addons for this series. I bought all the dlc in Gears 1 & 2. So it was a given. Even the returns of past maps in previous games was a delight, to see how they have changed chronologically & meteorologically and also technological changes like running on an updated UNREAL engine, with a new set of playing parameters.

It was the only DLC that was worth buying for me and my friends. It doesn't have that same ... been there done that.... YAWN.... feeling of COD dlc.
