They will continue Online 'for the foreseeable future'.
If you didn't know, Demon's Souls' servers were all set to go to sleep on May 31st, 2012, however, Atlus has announced that they will stay on, at least in the US.
Demon's Souls, the action RPG developed by From Software for the PS3 and released back in 2009, will continue with its Online service thanks to Atlus, as the servers are going to be extended "for the foreseeable future".
If you didn't know, they were all set to go to sleep on May 31st, 2012, but it looks like Atlus decided to "keep the fun alive" -at least in the US-.
Demon's Souls basically allows you to play online with other players, for PVP purposes, and for co-op play as well (both directly and indirectly, through in-game "notes" and tips left by other players).
This is what Atlus' Tim Pivnicny, VP of Marketing and Sales, said:
Pretty good news for all game owners!"While it originally seemed as though it would be unfeasible for us to continue to sustain the servers, a number of developments have made it possible for us to continue to invest in and support our fans as they have continued to invest in and support us and Demon's Souls."
