Also to offer Battlefield-style destruction...
According to The Official Xbox Magazine, the next generation MW project may call on Epic's Unreal Engine!
Unreal Engine 4 was officially unveiled just a weeks ago, and now, according to a OXM rumor, the next-gen Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game is set to use it!
Also, expect "large complex destruction sequence simulations" from it, among other things...
This is still a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt.Besides a senior network engineer "to design and implement high level network code for an exciting unannounced title for next generation console systems", the Activision-owned firm is on the lookout for a senior technical animator whose responsibilities include "working with 3rd party software for viewing and effecting Maya animations in the game engine (i.e. Unreal)".
Infinity Ward also has an eye out for a technical visual effects artist "to help raise the bar for visual effects on current and next generation hardware". Said artist will "focus on large complex destruction sequence simulations and making worlds that are more alive, animated and interactive." How very Frostbitey of you, Modern Warfare. Among the latter's focal areas are "wildlife", "animated environment elements like blowing cloth, foliage" and "destructibles".
A senior gameplay engineer with a taste for shooters, a senior environment artist (for "next-gen textures") and an environment art intern are also sought. They're going large on this one. It must be a Call of Duty game or something.
There's still some time left for this game to be officially announced, but we are already getting a lot of next-gen projects glimpses.
If true, do you think that switching to UE would be a good choice for the franchise?
