PS Vita gets a 50 euro price cut in France

Sony confirmed a Playstation Vita limited time offer with a 50 euro price cut.

Sony has confirmed a price cut in France. If you purchase a Playstation Vita between June 1st and July 15th you'll get a 50 euro discount.

This is a limited time offer so it won't be available after July 15th.

According to Sony:

"The PS Vita is the latest generation of handheld console and more than 1.8m have been sold worldwide since its launch. Its innovations are numerous. With this offer we want to make it more accessible to the greatest number throughout the approaching summer vacation.”

The limited time offer will be only available in France but... could this be a trial for a worldwide cut? what do you think?

They gotta do something, 1.8 million world wide sounds like a big number... then you stop to consider localizations and the % of sales a hit game can do.... Right now a mega hit on the Vita would sell realistically 360K copies at 20% of the install base in sales.

Most games never approach those kinds of sales.

Right now I would avoid the Vita like the plague if I was a developer/publisher, things may change this holiday season but right now things are ugly.
