MC Japanese sales Week 22, 2012: Dragon Quest Monsters moves big numbers (500K+)

Tracking from May 28 to June 03. 3DS sales also saw a boost.



Dragon Quest Monsters remake takes the top spot and it's now the second biggest 3DS opening, just after Monster Hunter 3G. Oh, and there's no PS Vita titles in the top 20.

Japanese tracking firm Media Create has released its sales chart for Week 22, 2012, which covers last week (May 28 to June 03).

* Software

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D debutted in first place, selling more than 513K units, and its now the second biggest 3DS opening in there, just after Capcom's Monster Hunter 3G (which sold around 521K).

Dragon's Dogma (PS3) dropped around -73% from last week and it's now on second place.

Another notable new release, Guild01 from Level 5, debutted in fifth place selling only 14,790 units.

Oh this is getting ugly, you can add up all the other systems and combined they still did not sell as well as the 3DS....

Edit: Also the PSP is still out selling the Vita, I honestly have stopped looking at the numbers in Japan its like watching Chuck Norris fight Pee Wee Herman.

next week is the best chance in a long time for the vita to shine, its sales already started to rise a little in anticipation of next weeks persona 4 golden remake launching on that format, it could get to 20k whilst the 3ds will surely drop back to around 60k making next week the closest week in sales between the 2 systems since launch week although of course a 3:1 advantage to 3ds is still a hell of a lead.
