Exclamation E3 2012: Steel Battalion-Esque controllers coming to Hawken and MechWarrior Online

    Pretty big and expensive...

Check out the 'MEK-FU Hawken controller' by Ripleigh and Razer's 'Artemis prototype controller for MechWarrior Online'...

    - The MEK-FU Hawken controller may be one of the first video game controllers designed to make playing a game more complex and less accessible.

This one is packed with a baffling selection of buttons, toggles, switches, sticks, screens and a full keyboard.

Designed by Chinese peripheral company Ripleigh, it will start mass production soon and will cost around $250.

Take a look of it below:

    - The second one, is designed for MechWarrior Online by Razer and its a bit less complex than the Hawken one, as it only offers a single stick and number pad.

“When it was announced that a new MechWarrior Online was in the works, Razer was more than excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Piranha Games and Infinite Game Publishing. We’re going to bring our own take to a concept controller that will pave the way for a new generation of robot destruction.” said Robert Krakoff, President of Razer USA.
This is still a prototype, so the final product could change. There's still no date or estimated price.

Take a look at it below:

Also, check out its announcement trailer below.

If that razer one has a touchscreen I can see it being a very attractive controller, to me at least. I am seeing a lot of cope in the Wii-U controller so anything remotely like it for the PC would be great. That said a phone or touch pad would serve equally as well, and likley a lot more viable for most.

Looking forward to this game tho, I love the old PC Mechwarrior and Heavy Gear games plus it would be nice to use my Sidewinder FF2 again for a new game.
    My gaming systems -
    Consoles - Wii, Xbox 360 Elite, Xbox 360 Jtag Jasper 2TB 3.5" HDD, PS3 60GB UK launch version, PS3 hacked with 500GB 3.5" HDD (2TB wouldn't work ).

    PC - i7 3930K @4.6GHZ, Asus Rampage IV Extreme, 2xRadeon 7970, 32GB DDR3, 4TB Raid HDD (4X Samsung Spinpoint F3, SSD boot drive OCZ Vertex 3 120GB )

These are gaming systems I am biased towards (may as well throw in everything from last gen and before as if the PC can emulate it I am likley to have it)

IF i jump for MWO... which is rather unlikely because i have all the MMO addiction i need with Star Trek Online already,
THEN i would sure as hell buy that Razer thing for it. Seems more optimized towards that game and the display would sell it for sure.
