Improved Macbook Air and Pro, new and slimmer Retina MacBook Pro, Siri in more languages and in iPad, Mountain lion coming next month, iOS 6 on Fall, new Maps app and more

This years Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference came to and end right now and a lot of new stuff and info have been revealed. We cached it all and compiled it on a comprehensive summary in case you missed the show.

On the Mac Side, Tim Cook and company left us with this:

Next-gen slimmer Retina MacBook Pro

Apple was an Ace in the sleeve and introduced their best laptop they have ever created. This is a new redesigned 15.4 inch MacBook Pro, almost 1/4 thinner than the current MacBook Pros, 0.7 inch thin (1.2 cm) and 4.46 pounds weight (2 Kg). No optical drive and no Ethernet port.

- 15.4 inch 2880x1800 Retina Display with 220 ppi
- Intel Ivy Bridge 2.3 to 2.7 Ghz quad core i7 processors with turbo boost (3.7 Ghz)
- Up to 16GB of RAM at 1600 Mhz
- NVIDIA GeForce Kepler GT 650M 1GB GPU
- Up to 768 GB SSD drive,
- Backlit keyboard, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Facetime HD camera, dual microphones, stereo speakers
- A lot of ports: SD, HDMI, USB 3.0, Thunderbolt, headphone jack, MagSafe 2

New designed apps will benefit even more for this Retina display like Aperture, Final Cut Pro and a lot of third parties are also working on specially designed ones such as Photoshop, Autocad, Diablo III etc.

Starting price is $2199 for the 2.3 Ghz model with 8GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD. Shipping today.

Improved MacBook Air and MacBook Pro

Same design as the current ones but improved insides. Still optical drive on the MacBook Pro's and no Retina.

The new MacBook Air:

-Up to 2Ghz dual core Ivy Bridge i7 processors
-Up to 8GB of RAM at 1600Mhz
-Up to 512 GB SSD faster (500Mbps of read speed, 2X than the previous one).
-60% faster GPU
-USB 3.0, 720p Facetime HD Camera, Bluetooth 4.0.
-11 and 13 inch screens at 1366x768 and 1440x900 pixels respectively

Prices ranges between $999 to 1099 for the 11 inch and $100 cheaper for the 13 inch compared to the current price. Shipping today.

The new MacBook Pro:

- Intel Ivy Bridge 2.3 to 2.7 Ghz quad core i7 processors with turbo boost (3.7 Ghz)
- Up to 8GB of RAM at 1600Mhz
- NVIDIA GeForce Kepler GT 650M 1GB GPU (60% faster that the old ones)
- The same ports as the current ones but now the USB's are 3.0

Prices for the 13 inch ranges from $1199 to $1499 and for the 15 inch $1799 to $2199. Also shipping today.

No Mac Pro update this time so the previous leaks regarding this part were not accurate, for now...

More OSX Mountain Lion (10.8) info

-Lots of new features showed such as Messages, Reminders, Notes, Documents on the cloud, new and less intrusive Notification system, Dictation (Not yet Siri).

-New Safari 6 with unified search field (Just like Chrome), iCloud tabs to sync all your open tabs, bookmarks and more across all your devices in real time.

-Power Nap feature to maintain your computer up to date where it sleeps without compromising battery. (Only available on the 2nd gen MacBook Air and the new MacBook Pro).

-AirPlay Mirroring with 1080p video and also sound wirelessly to your TV, or iOS device (And also in from iOS devices). No need for cables anymore.

-GameCenter on Mac. The same as on iOS but on OSX. Featuring "Challenges" that are like the Xbox's achievements or Playstation's trophies. It supports Mac-to-Mac multiplayer and cross device playing. You can play the same game against an iPad or iPhone user from your Mac or viceversa.

-Plus 200 new features.

Ships the next month for just $19.90 ($10 cheaper than Lion). One license to update all your Macs. Free for the people who buys a new Mac from now on.


As for iOS 6 this is what they revealed:

iOS 6 officially confirmed, more than 200 new features. There are the more relevant ones:

-Improved Siri: The first of all, she comes to the new iPad. Siri has studied and now know everything about sports, restaurants/food and movies and when we say everything that means EVERYTHING, from people to be able to buy tickets fro a match, book a table on know what the nearby cinemas are projecting. Also, now Siri can start an App just saying its name. More than 60 countries will be supported including new languages such as Spanish, Mexican, Italian, French, German, Chinese, Korean and more. Finally, Apple has announced a a new teaming-up with cars manufacturers such as BMV, GM, mercedes, Land Rover, Jaguar, Audi, Toyota, Chrysler and Honda to feature a button on the steering wheel to activate the "Eyes free" function that allows to control your iOS device with your voice and Siri.

-Facebook system integration: The same that happened with Twitter in iOS 5.

-Improved Phone App: You can now automatically program the "Call me later" feature to dismiss a call with a single touch and not be unpolite or even set up "Remind me when i leave" to your phone notificate you to call somebody when you get out of certain place. You can even choose to only receive calls from certain people on your contact list.

-Do not disturb feature: Disable all Notifications with a single touch so your phone will mute, not vibrate nor even light up the screen when you receive a notification.

-Facetime over cellular
: The WiFi restricted function is not anymore restricted (officially).

-Safari Mobile improvements: iCloud tabs syncing just like in Safari for OS X, read later and Smart Apps banners on certain websites to notify you that an App for that website is available at the App Store.

-Shared Photo Stream: Now you can share entire photo streams with your friends just like in Facebook and comment on them.

-VIPs: Now you can mark selected contacts on your list as VIPS to priorice them on each interaction with them.

-Passbook: A new App that allows you to have (buy and store) all your passes in just one place. You can buy fly boarding passes, tickets for shows and matches and more.

-Guided Access: For blind people to use special Apps that require special treatment like prevent accidentally closing and more.

-New Maps App: By bye Google Maps. The new Map apps looks awesome. It features local search, traffic service, 3D flyover, turn-by-turn navigation with 3D, Siri integration and more. It is simply amazing and smoother than any App out there.

-Changes in GameCenter: Challenges just like Xbox's achievements.

-Lost Mode for iOS: Allows you to set up a number that will be automatically dialed if someone finds your phone and touch the screen.

Beta available today for developers. Final version coming this fall. Supported devices: iPhone 3GS and up, iPad 2nd gen and up and iPod Touch 4gen. No luck for iPad 1 users nor for iPod 3rd gen and below, so this evening leaks were legit.
