    Exclamation The new iPhone to feature a smaller 19 pin connector

    Instead of the 30-pin one



    Some website are confirming that the new iPhone will abandon the old 30-pin connector and adopt smaller one

    Some sources are claiming that the new iPhone will sport a new and smaller dock connector, with 19-pins instead of the 30-pins one.

    According to Techcrunch:

    Although the form factor and actual size are still unknown, TechCrunch has independently verified that Apple is working on adding a 19-pin port, replacing the current 30-pin port, to the new iPhone. It is a move that will surely send shocks through the iPhone accessory ecosystem.

    Three independent manufacturers all agreed that the 19-pin dock port is in the works and many accessory manufacturers are facing an uneasy few months as they wait for official news of the standard to be announced.

    great now people like me who have ipods, ipads and iphones will need a new connector to go with them on top of 3ds and vita and hdd connectors? come on man....

    You don't have a 60L Rubbermaid Tote full of useless extra cables, connectors and adapters? I thought everyone did...now I feel strange.

    I'm not a fan of uselessly changing standards, but I think this is overdue. I mean, I didn't like MicroUSB because it hardly was smaller than miniUSB, but that eventually caught on just as strong as mini, so I'm cool with it now.
    I used to fanboy consoles in my sig. Now I'm not so sure they are worth my love. Steam has done more for me than all 3 consoles combined this gen.
