Shenmue creator will launch a new iPhone and Android game in September. It will be called Called Gan! Gan! Pirates and its 'an arcade shooter'
Nope, sadly, Yu Suzuki won't release a new installment of Shenmue.
Instead, the games development luminary who helped shape SEGA's first-party output for more than two decades will be launching an arcade shooter game called "Gan! Gan! Pirates" for mobile devices.
The mystery mobile title from Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki has at last been revealed. Have a first look at Gan! Gan! Kaizokudan (Gan! Gan! Pirates).
Gan! Gan! Kaizokudan combines gun shooting with social elements. You'll blast away at enemies like in an arcade-style gun shooting game. You'll also be able to team up with other players for cooperative play, as well as competitive play where you see who can first defeat a powerful boss for instance.
Famitsu.com reported on this game in a big feature about a series of games for the new "entag!" social gaming site. The site was unable to play the game, but said to picture an arcade-style gun shooting game, with the gun replaced by touch controls. The social aspects can be thought of as being similar to those of the air ship battalions in Mobage's Final Fantasy Brigade.
Well, there aren't other details or media, but it will be releasing on Android and iOS in September, and apparently, it will be free-to-play.
There's no word if the game will be localised for the west.
