Exclamation Jews & Buddhists back Hindus upset at mishandling deities in SMITE videogame

    More people against the devs

Jews and Buddhists have come out in support of Hindus who are upset at the inappropriate usage od Hindu deities in Hi-Rez's videogame

The protests of Hindu community against SMITE are now being supported also by Jews and Buddhists who disapprove the use of their deities as part of a videogame.

Here is the full press release:

Jews and Buddhists have come out in support of Hindus who are upset at the inappropriate usage of Kali and other Hindu deities by the Georgia (USA) online games developer Hi-Rez Studios in the upcoming online action video game SMITE.

Rabbi ElizaBeth W. Beyer, prominent Jewish leader in Western USA, in a statement in Nevada today, said that beliefs of Hindus should be respected. “We join the Hindus in requesting the company developing this online video game to avoid trivializing the deeply held beliefs of Hindus by changing the product accordingly”, Rabbi Beyer stressed.

Jikai’ Phil Bryan, distinguished Buddhist leader from Nevada, in a statement in Reno today, asked the video game developer to urgently stop the misuse of Kali and other Hindu deities and instead immerse themselves in the true meaning and depth of Hinduism. “Shame on the game-makers for denigrating these Supreme Beings, who bring hope, love, compassion, and highest benevolence to about one billion people world over”, Buddhist leader added.

Meanwhile, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement few days back, urged Alpharetta headquartered developer Hi-Rez Studios to immediately remove Kali and other Hindu gods from the game as it trivialized the highly revered deities of Hinduism.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, stressed that in a video game set-up, the player would control the movements of goddess Kali and other Hindu deities, while in reality the devotees put the destinies of themselves in the hands of their deities.

Moreover, portrayal of goddess Kali, who was highly revered by Hindus, appeared like a porno star in the SMITE version shown on the company website, which was quite distressing for the devotees, Rajan Zed pointed out.

Zed argued that reimagining Hindu scriptures and deities for commercial or other agenda was not okay as it hurt the devotees. Controlling and manipulating goddess Kali and other Hindu deities with a joystick/ button/keyboard/mouse was denigration. Goddess Kali and other Hindu deities were meant to be worshipped in temples and home shrines and not meant to be reduced to just a “character” in a video game to be used in combat in the virtual battleground.

Rajan Zed stated that video game makers should be more sensitive while handling faith related subjects and no faith, larger or smaller, should be plundered. As these games left lasting impact on the minds of highly impressionable children, teens and other young people; such games would create more misunderstandings about Hinduism, which was already a highly misunderstood religion in the West.

Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal. There are about three million Hindus in USA.

ha ha as if, the JEWS wtf id love it if this studio release a game which portrays hitler pmsl

as if religion groups cry when sh1t like this happens, the game is fictional, yes its using gods as a playable charactor, but its not taking the actual religion and making a mock of it or abusing that fath.

so they need to back the feck off, also i dont get the porno part, when all images of Kali that ive seen, shes an overgrown four armed naked smurf.

i think this is just to get media attention because people these days dont really care about religion... well not like they used to back in the inbred days.

WTF do Jews and Hindus have in common? Other then their recent love affair with cheap labour in India & a whole new multi-billion person/consumer marketplace still in its early stages of capitalism (both domestic & imported populations)

This issue screams propaganda, politics, political correctness (minorities) and private interests.

Christianity is constantly mocked in mainstream media, yet you don't see Jews coming to the rescue. On the contrary, you see Jewish dominated/owned companies creating this insulting content & profiting off it.

What about the mainstream belittling of Sacred Christian celebrations such as Christmas (birth of Jesus) vs (Commercialism & Santa clause), Easter (Death of Jesus) vs. (Chocolate eggs & bunnies).

What about the glorification of the devil in Diablo III. That game is directly offensive to many Christians.

Using false images of Jesus to portray anti-Christian messages such as in Family Guy & LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem & Hamlet 2.

Only a fool sees the surface smokescreen issues at hand.

Sorry.... but I'm not a fool.

we now know the Xbox One's game licensing policy was written from the ground up for companies. It's aggressively anti-consumer and anti-middle class, and it outright ignores underprivileged gamers. It's gross, despicable, greedy, pathetic, cowardly and out of touch with a growing global resentment for corporations. - Polygon 7th June 2013

    It was six men
    To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
    That each by observation
    Might satisfy his mind.

    The First approach'd the Elephant,
    And happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side,
    At once began to bawl:
"God bless me! but the Elephant
    Is very like a wall!"

The Second, feeling of the tusk,
Cried, -"Ho! what have we here
So very round and smooth and sharp?
    To me 'tis mighty clear
    This wonder of an Elephant
    Is very like a spear!"

    The Third approached the animal,
    And happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands,
    Thus boldly up and spake:
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
    Is very like a snake!"

The Fourth reached out his eager hand,
    And felt about the knee.
"What most this wondrous beast is like
    Is mighty plain," quoth he,
    "'Tis clear enough the Elephant
    Is very like a tree!"

The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear,
    Said: "E'en the blindest man
    Can tell what this resembles most;
    Deny the fact who can,
    This marvel of an Elephant
    Is very like a fan!"

The Sixth no sooner had begun
    About the beast to grope,
Then, seizing on the swinging tail
    That fell within his scope,
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
    Is very like a rope!"

    And so these men
    Disputed loud and long,
    Each in his own opinion
    Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!

    MORAL.

    So oft in theologic wars,
    The disputants, I ween,
    Rail on in utter ignorance
    Of what each other mean,
    And prate about an Elephant
Not one of them has seen!
