Metal Gear Solid 4 will get Trophy support

Konami will release a new version of Metal Gear Solid 4 this August with Trophy support,

It seems that Metal Gear Solid 4 will finally get a Trophy patch. The Trophy support will be included out the box with a 3.990 yen "Playstation 3 The Best" version of Metal Gear Solid 4 this August. If you already won MGS 4 you'll be able to patch your copy of the game for free.

So guys, are you ready to finish the game again?

finaly trophy support, i hope they add the feature to scan your current game save, because getting the big boss emblem was a pain in the ass and to do it all over again

I bought MGS 4 years ago, and i'm glad i waited to play it.

Its a big surprise it gets trophies after all this time. They are probably doing it to sell even more of this old game, but its nice that they are releasing a patch for free.
They dont **** with people who own the game atleast which is nice.

Maybe this will kickstart a new trend, so more old games get trophy patches for free and re-selling the game again for new users.

Pure, Uncharted etc.. got trophies years ago, and noone bothered with trophies on old games anymore until now.

good way of getting people to download an update for their original games that will kill them if they dont then update their firmware too

Yeah.. The patch is probably to disable the game, so you are forced to buy the new version.

As much as I liked MGS 4 the first time I played it, I can't sit through that movie again. Nice gesture though.

nice to see as usual you turn a good thing into BS conspiracy, you do know game patches (updates) can still be done through multiman without updating the console FW right??

but even so, if it requires a new FW erm thats your problem, you chose to stay on a 3.55 CFW that enables piracy, also it isnt a sony FW (software) therfore sony do not have to support it, the same rule applies with all consoles..... so whats your problem

actually it isnt a problem, they are perfectly entitled to do it however recently they do seem to be releasing a number of updates for old games resigned with the new keys.

And why not, its pointless releasing a game with 3.55 keys which are already pirated, for those that dont own the game but want to get it if theyre trophie whores will.

But for those that own the orrigional they dont really need to update their FW as in most cases game patches can be applied without updating the FW, but if it does require a FW update, again it is the users sole responcibility for staying on 3.55 cfw.

yes, but this update for mgs isnt just to add trophies, it also adds a "complete install" option, which many will find useful.

I found Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for PS3 in a bargain bin today at 10 bucks, so now i can play them before i play MGS 4 for the first time.

a complete install WTF is this true?? if so i wouldnt find it usefull unless they found away of installing alot faster, it used to take what about 5 mins to install each chaper, also wasnt each chapter arround 5GB and isnt there 4 chapters.

its been a while since i played it but yes 4 chapters although it took around 45mins to do the initial setup as you say the chapters took around 5 mins (of watching snake chainsmoke), this new option will install everything at the start so i'm guessing that overall it wont make much difference to the total install time its just that you'll get it all at once on first bootup, you could always use the time to cook a meal, go shopping or take some exercise whilst the power of blu-ray does its thing.

Its only a 1 time install, so it doesent matter. It cant install faster, because the Blu-Ray player on PS3 is very slow at transfering data compared to the DVD player on 360.

I have 750.GB in my PS3, so i will install MGS 4 fully myself when its possible.
