Reportedly leaked Playstation 4 real specs emerge

VGLeaks has posted what seems to be the Playstation 4 real specs or at least the Alpha-Dev kits ones

Rumor round-up time. VGLeaks has assured that they have received from a reliable source the Playstation 4 real specs (but probably not final) corresponding to the Alpha-Dev kits Sony sent to the studios.

Well like all sony consoles they start out as an all powerful bit of kit but by the time of release i may only be only 1.5 to 2 times faster !!!!!!!!!

On the side of the rumor being false I would find it hard for Sony to ditch Cell for a slower CPU, I am not a huge fan of the Cell BBE but with enough RAM and fast RAM it could keep up with the quad core AMD CPU already. I would think that if Sony does stick with the Cell for the PS4 that it would at least get a 400Mhz bump in speed bringing it up to 3.6Ghz and maybe using the whole 8 SPE's giving an extra SPE to work with over the PS3's configuration.

On the side of the rumor being true, maybe Sony would ditch Cell for something from AMD, the CPU would be cheaper and code for X86-64 would be a breeze for conversions from and too the PC market. Games do not really push CPU's these days, mostly its about the GPU and RAM so picking a cheap CPU makes sense for a console.

Security wise, I am going to say Sony should avoid X86 but who knows what other hardware will be in machine to help secure it.

I honestly doubt Sony have decided on final specs so far. and I think it'd be very logical for them to add 100gb BR support.
Although I guess you could say these could be the 'test' prototype specs, like this is just a weak shot at what it the system might end out to be.
Because we know they're already developing big name games for the system, it could be likely like in previous generations that they're making the games on the current gen console/specs, but then porting it to the new system and improving it to work well with it. Except in this occasion they already have some loosely thrown together hardware to start from.

If you knew me, you would know that i'm not a fantroll. Only a fantroll would say this to a person they dont know.
I buy games on PS3 all the time, but i dont like Sony as a company.


No looking at this article, but Sony is otherwise still so full of bullshit that PS3 was the last hardware i ever buy from them. Degrading of PS3 several times, 2 month offline and lots of other things. I just cant take Sony seriously anymore. I do like Sony better than Apple thou.
