Exclamation PS3 'Super Slim' Images leaked + 3 different HDD models

The recently rumoured PS3 'Super Slim' console in pictures

Some unofficial pics have been released of the new PS3 revision, speculated to have a pop up disc tray, ever slimmer design, and a lower price. Pics & details in full article...

There will supposedly be sold with the choice of either, 250GB, 500GB or just 16GB.

Obviously a 16GB model would cut down the price drastically. Similar to the 4GB Xbox 360 model.
As you can see, there doesn't seem to be any exterior difference in the different HDD sized models.

There is still rumros of it being a 'flip-top' loading system, which you can barely see an possible divide line in the last picture,
but these pics were taken for the purpose of legal classification apparently, hence the unphotogenic angles and quality.

So what do you guys think of the design, which is clearly returning to the PHAT design, just shrunk overall?

glad to see they kept an internal psu but i honestly expected them to add a usb port to the back like ms did for kinect so that a pseye could be plugged in for move.

i've seen some comments saying that it might be a slide lid rather than a flip top because lets face it a flip top does make disc manipulation very much easier a slide would be a lot harder to trick with a match or spring.

EDIT: for those saying this is a fake (or those who will) check out this thread from whren pics of the current ps3 were leaked and the comments about it http://www.computerandvideogames.com...slim-ps3-pics/

Yep, with that low-power rating, there is no need for extra outside power brick, reason for the 360 having one at launch was it pushed out 16amps at 12volts, one hell of power heat source.

Yep, now that I look at the last picture again and one of the others, for sure it is slide lid, it moves to the right and you throw the disc in. you can see the little higher edge on of the side back views due to the lid, and you can see the grooves where it slides on the last picture.

As for swap-tricks, etc. that is not a problem with Blu-Ray, the way the TOC works, swapping does not help. --- If the PS3 was still PS2 compatible then yeah you could have used tricks to get PS2 games playing.

aha thats explain the size reason.

i reckon they should drop these hdd bullsh!t. just give us the console only & then we buy our own ext hdd to play with. it would reduce cost he price significantly & no logistic nightmare.

or better yet, give us complete working games on the disc so we dont need insane amounts of storage for patches, fixes and dlc then let us just use an sd card for saves.
