According to Gearbox, Borderlands 2 could work very well on the Wii U, including the inventory management system using the console GamePad.
Looks like Gearbox keeps praising the Wii U.
Yeah, they've said in the past that the Wii U version of Aliens Colonial Marines will be the best looking one, and now the company founder Brian Martel thinks the upcoming Nintendo console is a 'really good platform' and that Borderlands 2 could work very well on it.
He added that the artwork on the Wii U would look better because the console can handle higher res textures...
Well, he didn't confirm the game on it, but he said that they are “going to do a wait and see approach” with the Wii U. So, they are waiting for publisher 2K Games to give a green light, but most likely it will depend on how well Colonial Marines does on it.“I like what they’re doing - obviously with the touchscreen - and it will be interesting to see what Microsoft do with their approach to that idea.”
“If Borderlands 2 was on the Wii U, the thing I would be most excited about is inventory management: it would be amazing on that, it would just be fantastic. And I think the artwork would look really good, with the way they can deal with the resolutions and textures, I think it’s a really good console.”
Borderlands 2 will be released next September on the XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
