Exclamation Gearbox has ideas for Borderlands 2 on Wii U

However, they didn't confirm it or anything. Plus new trailer from SDCC!

According to Gearbox, Borderlands 2 could work very well on the Wii U, including the inventory management system using the console GamePad.

Looks like Gearbox keeps praising the Wii U.

Yeah, they've said in the past that the Wii U version of Aliens Colonial Marines will be the best looking one, and now the company founder Brian Martel thinks the upcoming Nintendo console is a 'really good platform' and that Borderlands 2 could work very well on it.

He added that the artwork on the Wii U would look better because the console can handle higher res textures...

“I like what they’re doing - obviously with the touchscreen - and it will be interesting to see what Microsoft do with their approach to that idea.”

“If Borderlands 2 was on the Wii U, the thing I would be most excited about is inventory management: it would be amazing on that, it would just be fantastic. And I think the artwork would look really good, with the way they can deal with the resolutions and textures, I think it’s a really good console.”
Well, he didn't confirm the game on it, but he said that they are “going to do a wait and see approach” with the Wii U. So, they are waiting for publisher 2K Games to give a green light, but most likely it will depend on how well Colonial Marines does on it.

Borderlands 2 will be released next September on the XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Also, take a look at the game newest trailer, shown at this year Comic-Con below!

again n00bs comparing a game on a next gen system to a last gen system that is 6-7 years old so it should look better.

This news is like me saying im amazed that Max Payne 3 looks better on my newly built pc that has more power than the PC that is 5 years old.

Yet again were seeing game devs get excited saying our last gen game is playable on the wii u, if anything this news makes nintendo look bad, because it should be a walk in the park anyway for a next gen system.

the news we should be hearing is comparing to high end PCs (like the one ive just built) not compared to last gen consoles.

or are they comparing to last gen systems, because thats all the wii u is, another beefed up last gen console, which nintendo's comment when they claim sony/MS wont be able to make the graphical leap like they have before..... to get nintendo fanboys to say unlike nintendo theyve actually made a graphical leap... well durr nintendo never did a graphical leap from the GC to the WII.

so really in that comment, what was nintendo getting at, other systems might not be able to do what we never did either o_O

Wii-U is new.. Its of obvious that it will look better on it since its NextGen.
Current gen consoles is old now..

Technology vs price havent advanced much in 7 years, so it wont be a WOW factor on NextGen no matter.
I'm not even impressed on the best on PC.
Devs should focus more on gameplay as it takes many years more until devs and hardware is ready ready for true NextGen.

The biggest advances in tech was in 80's and 90's + early 2000, then it slowed down bigtime. This is why console makers havent rushed with new consoles either. With no big leap, there is just no point.
They still keep pushing, even when its limited improvements. Use the energy on gameplay instead, but also to remove most of the damn obvious bugs before release. Its embarrassing to release a game which dont work at release. Where is the quality control? Most games is only beta releases at launch, and mostly have Day 1 patch...Thats fucked up.

Bioshock Infinite is rated as maybe the best game this generation. Irrational Games really deserved this.

I played the first one on the PS3 after playing it on the PC, I was semi impressed at how well it played (It was still miles better on the PC for obvious reasons.) So really I am only interested in this game for the PC again....

Of course if some one does not have a decent PC, a PS3 or 360 or if they make it the Wii-U will do a fine job of the game. As long as the same people doing the conversion between the systems are the same and they keep the controls about the same.
