    Exclamation SCEE to shut down servers for 4 PS3/PSP games

    One goes offline on September, the rest on October.



    Starting next September/October, you won't be able to use the Online features of MotorStorm Pacific Rift (PS3), MotorStorm Arctic Edge, SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 and The Eye of Judgment: Legends (PSP)

    Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will shut down the Online servers for 1 PS3 game and 3 PSP games in the upcoming months.

    So, you won't be able to use the Online features of the following games:

    Important notice for all PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP owners regarding online games.

    As of 1 October 2012 you will no longer be able to use the online features of the following game:

    PlayStation 3
    - MotorStorm Pacific Rift

    PSP
    - MotorStorm Arctic Edge
    - SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3

    After this date, you will still be able to play these games offline.

    As of 31 August 2012 you will no longer be able to use the online features of the following game:

    PSP
    - THE EYE OF JUDGMENT™ LEGENDS

    After this date, you will still be able to play this game offline.

    We would like to thank everyone who has taken part in these PlayStation online communities and hope you enjoyed them.

    You can still play the above titles offline, with the exception of EyeToy Chat, Twisted Metal: Black Online and Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, which do not have offline modes.
    So, there you go. For now, this is only applies to Europe. Do you still play one of those Online?

    This is why xbox live will always dominate.... except for EA games, who does whatever they want.

    no.. its why private servers dominate. anyone can run them.

    considering MS shut down everything for the orrigional xbox and those that used the 360 to access got banned.

    its obvious that old games will eventually get the servers shut down, due to costs or if the numbers show that not as many people are using it.
