Indie hit passes another significant milestone...



Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition tops 3 million sales. Markus 'Notch' Persson is, of course, pretty happy.

According to franchise creator Markus 'Notch' Persson, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has surpassed three million sales.

"I got told Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!" he shared on Twitter.
That means the game has generated $60 million since its launch in early May.

It's another impressive milestone smashed by console version of the title, which broke previous XBLA sales records by selling more than any other title in the first 24 hours of availability on the digital platform. It went on to sell over a million copies in less than a week.
This port of the original PC indie game was developed by 4J Studios, who also handled other Xbox Live Arcade ports like Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, and Banjo-Tooie.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition currently retails for $20.
