SecuROM DRM failure.

It looks like the included SecuROM DRM is breaking *new* Steam-bought copies of Arkham Asylum.

Here goes more bad news related to DRM.

This time, new purchases of Batman: Arkham Asylum aren't working on Steam because SecuROM won't let users activate the authentication keys.

Consumers already spent their cash on the title when it got marked down in the Steam summer sale, but have been unable to play it since. They've bombarded the forums about the issue, but Valve's kept quiet.
At the time of writing, the issue is NOT YET solved but -apparently- Warner Bros. is looking into the problem.

Debate still continues on the specifics of the DRM, why it wasn’t properly implemented or why the GOTY version available on the Steam Store differs from the normal retail version by only allowing a static 4 installations on different systems. In comparison, the original retail version reset its allocated installations every month, allowing a little more freedom for gamers.
Let's hope either Valve or WB solve the problem ASAP!
