Microsoft's Brian Hall reveals



In a recent Interview, Microsoft's general manager, Brian Hall, has hinted that the next-gen Xbox will come with Windows 8

Interesting info we have here. It appears that the general manager of Microsoft, Brian Hall, when interviewed by The Verge has revealed that the new Xbox will come with Windows 8. We don't now yet if it was a mistake by his part or the real deal.

Here's the full quote:

We’ve had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about 16 years, we obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work. We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office with the new Windows phone and the new Xbox.

Anyway, we have to wait for MS to make an official announcement about this.

Dreamcast ran on Windows CE, and this new Windows 8 will be stripped down too.

We wont be able to run Windows 8 programs at all on the Win 8 version for Xbox. The Picture is very misleading.

The Dreamcast could run games designed for CE but something like 4 games released for the DC used it, the rest all ran on the hardware and where compiled with the Katana dev kit. You can might be able to find it still online? I know I had it at one point in time but I found out it was completely illegal since it was leaked.

Did you miss the part in the title that says "Embedded"? No thats not the normal desk top OS, think of it like CE was to Win 2K or XP depending on the version of CE used.

Yes.. probably.

I already shared my Xbox 360 account with PC Games for years thou with "Games For Windows Live" Games.
Grand Theft Auto 4, Batman Arkham City + Asylum, Bioshock, Dirt 2,3 and many other games which use Xbox Live on PC.
The last year i also shared my Xbox Live account with Windows Phone.

I get achievements on 3 systems on the same account already. Most PC Games already had native Xbox 360 gamepad support for several years. No need to config pad in any game. Its already mapped the same way as Console games as default

Windows 8 will force LIVE upon alot more PC games i think which i like. I just dont like the idea of upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 already. Its way too soon.

I hope MS release this as a patch for Windows 7.

now there is one of my favorite systems I still own, sad that dreamcast kinda failed. still an awesome homebrew system.
