Exclamation Square Enix offers refunds and free copies to 'accidental' FFVII PC purchasers

In order to apologize for the 'mistake'...

After the early and accidental re-release of Final Fantasy VII for PC, Square Enix is now offering free copies of the game -and full refunds, of course- to anyone who bought it.

As you may know, the PC re-release of Final Fantasy VII accidentally went live over the last weekend, and people who bought it found themselves unable to actually play it.

Well, in order to apologize, Square Enix said they will issue "full refunds" for the purchase as well as a “free version” of the game which will be provided when it launches as intended.

    Here's their official statement:

This weekend, our teams were testing the product website for the upcoming relaunch of Final Fantasy VII on PC. While the website was being tested in its live state, a small number of people were able to purchase a pre-release build of the game. For those customers, Square Enix will be offering full refunds for the purchases and for their inconvenience, a free version of the classic Final Fantasy VII on PC when it is launched.

We want to thank our community for their continued support and excitement regarding the upcoming rerelease of Final Fantasy VII. We will have more information to share about the launch of this anticipated title shortly.
The re-release was selling for $12 the past weekend, so you should expect similar price when it officially launches, in the upcoming weeks.

    thats pretty decent of them.

its also good to know that they are still working on the game right upto its release as its digital only, kind of blows away any excuse others may have for not including the stolen content at their game launches of digital versions.

Thats nice of them. The price is ok too.

I bought FF 7 on PSX many years ago because of the hype, and i still havent played it.
Wii U including expensive Gamepad now costs less than a VITA, and only less than 1/3 of the price of Xbox One or PS4.

I still have my copy for the PS1/PSX and I hear its worth some money? If yours is unopened omg keep it that way, probably worth a thousand bucks or something lol

But to be honest with you, to me FF7 was a good game but after a while it was annoying when you cast a spell and it shows an FMV thats like 3 minutes long..... Every time you cast the spell, so if it was some tough ass monster and you had to hit it 4 or 5 times well prepare to be bored.

Thanks for the info, but its not sealed anymore as i inserted disc 1 many years ago...i just didnt play it much. I forgot it with the years.
As for the forced FMV, it seem to be a very boring part of the game like in MGS 4.
