If Nintendo can get it right first time nearly every time then the rest are just short changing thier customers and intentionally so, so hopefully leaving themselves open to being taken to court over it. I'm not a fan of these court cases for the sake of it deals, but in cases like this where it is baltantly a case of a company refusing to pay to rectify their mistakes, then I am all for it. Just imagine if Sony or MS had said the same about their hardware faliures, the PS2 would have been a flop and likley the PS3 would never have happened, and the the 360 probably would have been dead itnhe water ina couple of months. The fact is Konami can fix it and no excuses should be allowed on a fixed hardware platform (PC's I can sort of get as it can be difficult to replicate a problem and fix it due to hardware/software combo's not to mention a fix for one may screw up another combo). Games companies get away with way to much when it comes to sloppy work and should be brought into line with every other business.
By the way that doesn't just apply to Konami, tho they deserve a kick in the happy sack for their screwed up newer Silent Hill games and even more so for MGS4 (good when you can actually play it between loading, FMV's of no relevance to the plot or just piss poor in general and Installs for every damn chapter).
well in the uk a court case isnt required, its covered under the sale of goods act (as amended) the same law that sony broke with the removal of other os, so anyone with a copy of shhdc and the receipt to prove they bought it new can request a refund from the store or contact trading standards if they need to.
we now know the Xbox One's game licensing policy was written from the ground up for companies. It's aggressively anti-consumer and anti-middle class, and it outright ignores underprivileged gamers. It's gross, despicable, greedy, pathetic, cowardly and out of touch with a growing global resentment for corporations. - Polygon 7th June 2013
