Win a Nyko Game Face 360! Get Designing your own themes!

Following on from our win a digital video recorder for PSP & Ipod contest worth $150 (which is still running), we decided to run another contest for all you creative folk out there. In order to be in with a chance of winning your very own Nyko Game Face 360 kit, all you have to do is design and submit your very own design to our un-official Game Face 360 forum section. It's that simple, what is perceived to be the best design entry will win! You can check out the MaxConsole review of the GameFace 360 should you need inspiration!

All you got to do is download Nyko's GameFace 360 software, create your own design and upload it to our un official GameFace 360 forum contest section!

    Mac My 360 Contest

It appears that Nyko’s Gameface 360 is the current ‘Hot’ item for customizing your 360. You can read our own in-depth Review of it right here.

We were so impressed with the Nyko Game Face 360 unit, we thought it would be nice to source another one and host a creative contest. But you’re not getting off so easily… we’re going to make you work a bit for it, but don’t worry, you’ll have fun in the process.

The contest is very simple. Using Nyko’s software, design a custom faceplate for the 360. Make it as simple or as detailed as your heart desires (nothing pornographic please), but originality and creativity count. You can submit as many as you want, and feel free to use Photoshop or any other 3rd party photo editor to enhance your faceplate. Once you have your faceplate, Put it into the Nyko software, save it, and submit it to us in the forum thread link below.

As a bonus, once the contest is over we will add all submissions into a new 360 forum where everyone can share and enjoy each others creations.

You can download the software here. (Nyko’s Website)

Finally, here are a few examples to get your creative juices flowing.

The closing date for the contest is May 22nd 2005 23:59 PST. Yes, the contest is open to EVERYONE across the world.

OK, here is an example to get everyone started...

what we would request is the raw BMP file created by the Nyko software zipped up in either a Rar or Zip format, along with a screenshot to show what it looks like within the template.

    IMPORTANT
Your design will be judged not only by overall design, but how well it fits within Nyko's software template! The best design in the world doesn't matter if the coolest parts are cut out by the template...

    Good Luck to Everyone!

    Update

Ok folks... time for a little bit of critiquing here....

    1) Originality counts!!!!
taking a cool picture of your favorite game and/or photograph is cool, but regardless of how neat a pre-made pic is, an original creation is strongly preferred. Do some custom work with layers or design something based on the cutout of the template...

    2) Work within the template
Make sure that any important areas of your design are not cut off by the template. Having a face displayed may look good, but if an eye or a mouth or some other important part is cut off by the CD-Tray or buttons then it is pointless.

    3) Proper alignment within the Nyko software is a must!
Some of the pictures so far look pretty good, but when loaded into the Nyko software they are off!!! When designing your Gameface, make sure to load it into the Nyko software to make sure it is lined up properly!

The winner gets a Gameface completely free out of the deal, and I have to pay out of my pocket to ship it to you, so please put some thought and creativity into your designs!!!!!

Show everyone what the readers of Maxconsole can do!

Every image I've downloaded worked fine, and aligned great in the Nyco software. I had to adjust a few, but they all lined up and printed ok. I am using a laser printer and an Epson Inkjet. I've printed on the pre-packaged templates that came with the gameface and also plain and glossy A4 paper. I don't understand what you mean about being off? Every face I load if offset to the right initially, but lines up ok. What am I missing? They look great on my 360 once cut out, maybe I am doing something wrong?

I also adjusted the template I had made for photoshop and included "cut lines" that print on the game face that show you where to cut so the face sits smooth. Anyone interested in that? It was Fiestygirls idea and worked out pretty good, so credit for the template should go to her, I was just bored enough at work to do it, hehhehe!

Awsome! Feel free to post the template

BTW, not pointing any fingers at any specific designs... some of the designs fit the template perfectly, some are off. I'm not pointing out you, or anyone else specifically, just giving everyone that's already submitted something the 'heads up' to double check what they have already submitted, and giving anyone who wants to add more some pointers...

I only want the best from you guys... you can do it!!!
