i just went back to Forza 4 before jumping into Forza Horizon like 2 weeks ago now almost done with Horizon's *single player campaign*

looking at Forza 4 i've seen over $150 worth of DLC car packs (i missed over a year of monthly DLC packs)

when i looked over the car lists of all those packs i noticed, there isn't a single car in it that i really give a crap about.

after looking over the list a few times i noticed why!

in these car packs are either REALLY old cars (pre 1980), i don't really care for Oldtimers,
or REALLY new cars (just release 2012 / 2013 super sport cars)... i don't really care for those either, because they have no reputation yet, they are more advertising the new shiny car from the last carshow or something.

For me, as a 29 year old, the most interesting cars are 1980 - 2005 models, that's the Timeframe i care about because i was there, and because new cars take some time to get some Reputation.

But for some reason there are very rarely cars in both games DLC packs from this Timeframe,
(example, this time, only the Ferrari, and oddly enough thats the only car i like from this new pack.)
i don't know maybe really old crappy lemons have less licensing cost attached?
Maybe the people creating these games are more like 50+ years old and just really like these cars...

    something is off here anyway.

you'd think in 15 - 20 Car packs i would find at least 40 cars that i would want to have in may game, but nope, at best 5 i slightly care about, but not enough to buy the whole pack.

For example, the Ferrari in this pack is cool, but there are so many Ferraris in Horizon already that it doesn't make a big difference for the Carlist.

In Forza 4 i can almost understand it because there are plenty 1980-2005 cars in there already and it might be hard to find more stuff in that timeframe to add that seems worth it (i would certainly like some more Honda and Dodge, but probably not mainstream enough for them)... but Forza Horizon has like a fraction of the Carlist that Forza 4 has, there are plenty good ones to choose from that already exist, so my thoughts go back to licensing cost.
