    Media, burner and game compatibility for Hitachi

    I'll give this a shot to see how big it gets. If you want to contribute then please post your findings as well. I'm taking a note from PSPWAD and turning it into a spreadsheet because hitachi drives dont like all media and putting it right on the thread would be overkill. Please post your findings, if its a working boot and how its working (direct, hdd trick blah blah blah), what region the game is, system burner and media. The more information the better so everyone can look at the list and see if theres information that can help them. If there are suggestions on how to improve the layout of the sheet then please let me know, this is for everyone so the easier to read for you the better.

    This thread is for compatibility only. Do not post or request ss files, post group names or request where to get games.

    Thanx to c4dm4n for reminding me of the filter feature. Now choose how you want to see the list, choose burner type, media type, boot type or whatever else is sectioned.

    Thanx to Djoen for fixing the list up for me

    Quake 4 (Regionfree) - NTSC
    Table Tennis - PAL
    X-Men - PAL

    Burner:
    * BenQ DC DQ60
    * NEC ND2510A

    Speed Burned:
    * 1X
    again on
    * 2.4X
    (DVD-R burned @ 2x)

    Media tested
    * Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x
    * Verbatim DVD-R DL 4X
    * Maxell DVD+R DL 2.4x

    System:
    * Xbox360 PAL
    * Hitatchi DVD-Rom Ver. 0047DJ
    * Patched with C4E v.1.1 hack

    Working:
    * No, All attemps failed and resulted in a black screen followed by unrecognized disc error
    * HDD / AV / Reboot trick didn't work!

    DL Media wasted: 15 :/
    But he, it has a purpose

    Getting myself a Pioneer DVR111 (anybody knows if this burner also is OK ? dvr110 is not to find that easy here)

    Wackawookie, make a section to for burning Speed!
    Also i would make a seperate section for the Game Region like:
    Perfect Dark | NTSC-U
    Perfect Dark | NTSC-J
    Perfect Dark | PAL-UK
    Perfect Dark | PAL-SP
    UK = United Kingdom
    SP = Spain, etc...
    (Last 2 letters are the country from the release game, if the game was sold and dumped in spain it would be PAL-SP, when unknown where it is dumped PAL-xx)

    Reason, some PAL releases have diff. SS and not all PAL releases will work fine on any PAL 360

    (Let's take an example: PGR3 works on a UK 360 but the same release does not work on a SP 360, when patched with another PAL SS.bin it works fine on the SP 360 but not on a UK 360)

    You disconnect the x360 hdd from it's port (just lifting it a bit is enought) to reset the x360, the dvd drive gets not resetted, this way the hitatchi has the time to read the ss and go throu.

    depending on what burner you used this can be needed cause the hitatchi takes longer to read the ss, so if it takes to long the drive will stop reading.

    * HDD Trick -> When you hear the disc spinup, (mostly just when the ring of light has stopped circling around) disconnect and reconnect the x360 hdd, This will force the drive to take a longer read before giving up
    * AV trick -> When you hear the disc spinup, (mostly just when the ring of light has stopped circling around) push the switch on your x360 component cable to normal tv and back to hdtv (or vica versa) this has the same effect as the hdd trick
    * Disc Trick -> open the x360 dvd tray, put in your backup (don't close) push the X on your controller long enough to get the turn off tab, turn your x360 off (this will close the dvd drive) and push asap back on the X to turn the x360 back on, your backup will boot cause the drive had a longer time to read the disc (be sure your settings are set to boot game on x360 power-up)

    - Keep in mind that HDD/AV trick isn't that really healty (on a longer term of life) for the x360, dunno for the disc trick, cause you don't force resetting or anything.

    Does anyone know if the Sony DRU-820A Drive bitsetting is already enabled or as does it require a firmware update? I love the list, but what method have these been burned? I see the Clonecd method and the DVD Decrypter method. Which method is most reliable?
