just did the laser optimization, and now things are running better than ever. Some people are keeping tabs on the potentiometer readings so here are mine. When I first hooked up the POT to my MULTIMETER it read 250 now it reads like 187. HUGE difference in playability. Still a dre at least once every 24 hours but for what it is I am happy with these results.
The guide I found makes little reference in how to take the NGC apart but if you can't figure it out then you probably shouldn't be doing this. all I needed to know was where the POT was. I had it apart and back together in under an hour.
I had to order the CASE BIT off ebay for like 3 dollars american.
any updates for a new GCOS? Everything is perfect, but better cheat code support would be a great help to me, and memory save archiving (as of now I am not sure there is a way without the AR max media. Other than that GCOS 1.x is fine.
About the laser, since the pot "lives" little, it needs little tweaking sometimes, so u could replace the pot with resistor with same resistance. It would be a permanent solution.
And about news on GCOS, emu_kidid has appeared to be moved on Wii scene, and GCOS continues on Wii platform:

I wish there was open-source GC modchip, bored to using PSO+BBA![]()
If the almighty God would create so big rock that he can't lift it, he would not be almighty anymore.
Read that gcos can help solve this problem.
Have friend who moved here from Europe. He has a PAL gamecube + lots of games. He just bought a NTSC hdtv
what would be the most painless cheapest route of getting it to go. PSO(phantasy star online+ BBA(what is that?). I don't care about playing copies, just getting the pal gamecube + gamecube games to work here.
Glad to know..
thxs emu_kidd when the final release will be out?
LeChucky,
Look at the following quote from a thread at tehskeen.com:

no kevstah2004, the cheats will be gone if you do that.
You know, I do have plans to revisit GCOS
