edit (the sentence was terrible :P) : was the slot b one cleared, without anything?
edit2: is there anyway I can test it with only one MC? I really want to try it, but PSO REQUIRES a MC, so, can I just use it for both?

the one in my "B SLOT" has some game saves on it. It doesn't really matter, just as long as there is some room for AR to write its files. Both memory cards were in, when i booted PSO
Originally posted by Atreyu yep there are 2 codes like you said.
ive entered the code 3 lines of code in the (M) and ticked the bootloader.
then when i START GAME it says open the lid then close the lid, when i close the lid it starts reading the disc and my screen goes off.. and disc keeps spinning.
i checked the memory card and all the files are there that should be there.
spcmnspff: could you please put me at ease, and use grab the 1.08 DOL and try it for yourself. or anyone else who was a proper AR disc that works for them and PSO, could they try. pleassssssse!
I just tried it and it works fines. It seems your memory card is not configured correctly. Your best bet would be to format the card you are going to use and then load a new AR card image to it. Then repeat the steps to get the gcos on it.
yep, i found you need a blank card. when i tried to delete all the files off an old one, samson's loader got written to the wrong place - ie rolling black screen of death.
i made a backup of my card with gcs, then filled the file with 0's in a hex editor. power up with lid open and gc asks to format the card. NOW update/reset with AR, and you're set for adding the bootloader.
ps- non-official memcards didn't work either. needed a nintendo 59 or 251.
pps - sure, GCOS works when booted off a memcard. why did they include gci then if not?!?!

and how would I do to GCOS load without having to pass through the "SDLoad menu" or whatever it's called? I mean, the same thing someone did with the original anaconda04

i formated my card and did the AR update and then did the loader.dol and then upped gcos.gci and then edited the master code of 'ACTION REPLAY' but i still get the same problem when i run AR from a dol or a backed up disc.
im hoping its the fact im running it from a dol or backed up disc that its not working.
Originally posted by spcmnspff What disc are you using? You need an original to insert when AR tells you to. I've tested it with your dol file and it worked fine.
Im using PSO. and ive also tried Picmin 1 both PAL discs. when i close the lid my screen goes blue (which is what my tv does when there is no signal)
So can you tell me the exact procedure you used from the very beginning to get AR working from a dol please?
I was having problems until I figured out I was trying to install an old version of the bootloader that I found. I have an AR v1.08 as well. Make sure you are using the most recent version, you can find it on the dextrose forums.

All I did was upload the dol using PSO, then selected the codes and hit start game. Maybe try and use Freeloader first to make sure it goes to PAL.
