Originally posted by PC_Arcade I think the problem is lying with ctr-gcs, I can't seem to get it to upload the file, the command i'm using is as follows :
ctr-gcs b -ir ar_memcard_hack_1.14.raw
But when I follow that with:
ctr-gcs b -l
The card shows as corrup and on rebooting is empty
Is there anything else I can do?
Use this file. It has a bunch of batch files and a somewhat gui to help you restore the image. Easiest way is to rename the ar_memcard_hack_1.114.raw to slotb.raw.
Choose Restore memcard on B in the options. Can't remember where I found this, but it uses either psul or PSO (PSO which is faster). Read the readme.
BTW, when you restore the image the GC memcard manager will report it's corrupt. It's not really corrupt it just can't read it correctly.
BTW again, put the slotb.raw in the same folder as this.
Good luck!

OK today everything works fine!
My problem was removing/inserting cards after pwr up.
So now I have a Nintendo 59 block card with AR codes for SDload AND Samson's loader PLUS GCoSv1.4!!
I added the SDload codes to Skunk's image
Thanks again Skunk!
Here it is, hope it works for others - I tried to test it but I only have 1 Nintendo 59 block card and the Action Replay card does not work with ctr-gcs (at least mine does not)

This image worked fine for me (great since I wanted one with a boot menu) but...
Is it normal for the gamecube to think that the card needs to be formated? GCS lists it fine, but I can't figure out how to delete a dol off the memory card if not through the gamecube...

Dumb question, how do you delete something with ctr-gcs? I just see:
-l List files on memcard
-b# Backup file # to <file>
-r Restore <file> to memcard
-ib Backup raw image of memcard
-ir Restore raw image of memcard
-c Configure DOL with IP addresses
No delete.
BTW, I love how everything is open source and I can compile it to work in OS X

that's a big failure in the current ctr-gcs, I guess... I think they didn't imagine that could happen... we can only wait until a next release...
I think there is another way to send files to the MC using the PSO + BBA exploit... its name "MC Explorer", or something like it...
edit: the "MC Explorer" is just a simplified way to use the ctr-gcs, so no erase option. man, I really don't think it's that difficult to implement the erase code, since you've already done all the other stuff. the coder for the ctr-gcs is from this forum? I hope he reads this thread :P

Problem is I tihnk the project hasn't been touched since 2003. I just E-mailed him from the address in the readme file... hopefully he'll get back to me.
So is there any other way anyone can think of to get files off of the memory card?

As long as you initialize the bba, ctr-gcs works fine running from the memory card. I use it all the time now, much less hassle than booting PSO, even if you have to run GCOS first to initialize the bba.
