    I also want to sent the xbox back to m$.

    My xbox gives rrod's after the x-clamp fix.

    Do you think that they sent me a new console. I have the following specifications:

    - I Replaced the motherboard
    - Did the X-clamp fix and made bigger holes for the screws
    - The fan is stuck
    - I Spoofed my original MS28 as a hitachi drive
    - The S/N on my case is not the serial from my new mobo
    - I have no sticker

    But my xbox gives the rrod , do they check my console of modifications?

    This is the shipping information for the box I sent to the repair center. Notice the part in bold. I've sent in a few with no seal and they took them all, but it looks like it was rejected. what do you guys think?

    Today I got an email from microsoft saying they got my 360!!

    but......on the website the serial # didn't change, the warranty didn't change, and it says it was already shipped back to me....but the tracking # doesn't work.
    I don't think this is good.

    EDIT: I called M$ and the guy said I should be gettin it back in a few days, didn't mention tampering, so could be a good sign. i hope

    I don't think there is anything to fear there. look at the thing above the bold, that means it kept going, it probably just happened to go through mesquite quickly.

    So, Purolator stopped by today, but I was at work, so I didn't get my 360. Thing is, on the support page, it says they're still waiting to receive it, but yet I got a card today saying it's back. Did they repair it, return it unfixed (which is what I was expecting anyway), or send a refurb? They received the broken one on the 15th, and shipped one out to me on the 16th. Guess I'll have to phone and find out what's going on.

    EDIT: So after calling Xbox support, the guy I spoke to said that they exchanged my broken 360 for a new unit (I'm assuming refurb). So I guess tomorrow I'll see what I actually got. I haven't played in well over a month, so I can't wait to play after work.

    EDIT #2: Just checked the support site. Serial number stayed the same and says out of warranty and no pending repair. Guess the guy on the phone was full of crap. Plus, I have to wait until Thursday to get it back to find out for sure. If they sent me a different one, wouldn't my warranty and serial number have changed?

    Microsoft is shipping back my 360 today. I sent it in without any warranty sticker. I called them today to find out if they replaced or fixed my console, and the guys said it had been completely repaired but was still the same xbox... so here is hoping I still have a modified firmware. I won't vote in the poll until i get mine back and see it for sure

    Pricks sent mine back unrepaired, which doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that when I phoned, I was told it was exchanged for a different unit. I'm going to be calling and asking for the proof they have that it's been tampered with. Other than the missing warranty sticker, there are no marks on the machine what-so-ever (pry or otherwise). I'll buy one more 360, and when that one dies, Microsuck will never see another penny from me. My next PC will even be a Mac. MS rushes everything, which is why their OS's and consoles are so buggy.

    mine didn't have a sticker either....but since it says "device shipped to customer" instead of "no pending repair" does that mean the fixed/replaced it??


    P.S. my tracking # works now.

    More than likely. I never got anything. No e-mail, no update on the support site. But like I said earlier, I'm in Canada, and since the US thinks Canada is the top country for Piracy (sorry if I offend any US citizens, it's just something I read a while back), Canada is probably being very strict about the warranty sticker issue. I'm curious to hear what they tell me when I call about their evidence of tampering, especially when I ask why they blatantly lied to me.

    Update!!!

    i got an email saying they are shipping my console to me yesterday, but the serial number is still the same. They haven't mentioned anything about it being tampered with.

    I get it on tuesday, I'll let you guys know.

    Hi today i recieved a console back from microsoft repair center in Australia, it had a BENQ drive which didnt seem to flash via dosflash. Apon inspection i believe i have found a new drive revision!

    not another drive ( i hope i get my orig benq ) back for the 3rd time

    Looked on the website, it now says "Device shipped to customer". Says I receive it the 26th. So that's good I hope! Haven't received an e-mail yet. I'll update when I receive it!

    Edit: Ert342, I have exactly the same circumstances as you. Hopefully all is good!

    That's EXACTLY what happened to me. I hate to say it, but I seriously doubt they fixed it. You'll know when you get the box, because it will will have "TAMPER" written in big black letters on the side, lol.

    I've since listed mine on ebay as-is, so hopefully, someone who knows how to do the x-clamp fix will pick it up, then I can buy one last 360, which will not get modded. $300 is a lot to spend, then mod, then not be able to get it fixed. I'm off modding for good.
