I am considering updating my xbox to 1.61 hacked with activate.iso patched into it and later the HDD restore hack for the nand.

Do MS automatically prevent repair on a banned console or do they look at the seal? Live in UK so I would be looking at Germany.

I wont be returning mine, I am just thinking about if it RRODs and if they automatically block it I wont bother preserving the seal.

I sent my modded 360 to repair after getting RROD. Not only microsoft repaired it, but they didn't change the DVD drive, so it came back modded with all the warranty stickers (official) placed on properly.

Now, I have a theory that I will never be banned I reckon when you flash your 360, microsoft actually can see the statistics on the voltage when flashing your 360, and thats how they find out if your 360 is modded. When mine went to repair, Im sure Microsoft probably 'reset' all the statistics etc. So I survived the ban-wave of 09 (was playing it non-stop) and so far havent been banned. Lets hope my theory stays true.

Wrong! I had mine flashed with a kit and no other mods....still got banned.

I just screwed up flashing my Lite-On 360, messed up the soldering and burnt a nice big hole through the PCB. It's irrepairable. Do I have a 200 € book stand or can I try returning it? The sticker on the DVD-drive is broken. The sticker on the box itself is NOT. The DVD-drive shows HUGE signs of tampering, I literally tore the internals apart out of rage after it broke.

Another thought: Do you think I should force an RROD before I send it in? Because as it is now, the drive just wants to eject as soon as I start the box, then close, then eject etc. with nothing happening. They might suspect this is due to tampering while an RROD is simply just that.

I have just sent in my Xbox (Warranty expires on 14 December)
I still had the warranty sticker, but if u look closely then u can see that the little text at the top is a little worn out ( only shows half )
But anyways, I've clapped that sticker back on with "Prit" And same for the Drive Tape ( was still intact but you can see some wobbles in it )

I'll let u guys know if i get it back repaired!

I have an Xbox 360 that has trouble reading discs. It's still under warranty if it had 3 red rings but since it doesn't have rrod they say I can't send it in for free under warranty.

Do you think I could get away with just sending the Xbox 360 w/disc reading problems while saying it has rrod? If not, would there be a way to force rrod and send it in?

    Thanks.
