View attachment 26714 This is starting to get monotonous! A fifth class-action lawsuit has just been filed against Sony, demanding a jury trial.
They are claiming that PS3 owners have suffered an ascertainable loss of money and injury as a result of Sony's "unfair, deceptive and/or fraudulent business practices", and say Sony's position is "untenable" since users will lose advertised features whether or not they choose to update.

The suit refers to the famous Phil Harrison quote, "The Playstation 3 is a computer. We do not need the PC"; however, unlike some previous court documents, it does not include user comments from the Playstation Blog as examples of customer dissatisfaction.
It is likely that most or all of these suits will eventually be consolidated into a single, larger class-action, as in the cases of the SXRD TV class-action litigation and Sony BGM Rootkit scandal.
