After using Waninkoko's 4.2 firmware update the HB channel is now upside down and the disc drive won't read the disc anymore. Help please.

I've got the same problem. Don't know about the disc drive though. Haven't used it for a while

Are you on the latest HBC? have you got a bootmii backup? have you tried a reinstall? Make sure CIOS is installed before hand.

The HB channel updated itself through the network connection and I used the Waninkoko 4.2 updater I downloaded to update. The install worked fine but now HB screen is upside down and driver will read no discs at all. When I insert a disc it will spin then come to a full stop.

    UPDATE:
I downgraded the firmware to 4.0J and the disc drive is spinning again. But the HB channel is STILL upside down. How do I fix this? Thanks.

    UPDATE 2:
I did some googling and got it fixed. I used NUS Downloader to download the latest ios61 and installed it. Worked like a charm.

I just upgraded and the same thing happened, all I did was reinstall IOS 30, run hackmii install and reinstall the HBC.

Did your drive spin after the upgrade? Because mine took the disc but stopped spinning and didn't run the game. But after downgrading it spinned.

Yes, it's chipped. I have a D2CKey. I wonder why it stopped spinning?

Apparently upside down HBC is because you have cioscorp installed. Team Twiizers don't like stuff designed to play copied games so if you have them installed they are basically saying you are a pirate. I've heard it happen to people who swear they never installed cioscorp though.

I didnt think I had CIOScorp installed although had trucha signed my IOS files for non piracy related reasons (brick recovery).

    edit:
I think the upgrader might have patched the files.

My HBC also turned upside down after installing Waninkoko's 4.2 firmware update. You need to use DOP-IOS to install IOS61 and your HBC will right itself.

The disc drive sounds like a separate issue - mine still works.

I've heard a lot of cases of mod chips stoping working after 4.2 update. Not sure really why, but it seems to be pretty common...

My wiikey v1 seems to be working. At least i have a bootmii back with 4.1 just in case, i only upgraded because startpatch can apparently block online updates.
