Basically the same in sales as the Nintendo Wii U console!

The official Raspberry Pi magazine just announced that over 12.5 million of the affordable little Linux boards have been sold since the original Pi was launched in 2012.

The Nintendo Wii U console is just around million more sold when compared to the Raspberry Pi, the little board that everyone originally thought would never become popular, really has taken off and spawned a whole range of different sizes and horsepower versions.
More interesting is the breakdown of Pi sales, provided by this lovely pie chart, and shows 3B is the biggest seller, and alot of that I think is due in part to 'Retro Gamers' and their love of emulators like RetroArch, and I bet if Raspberry officially would allow more promotion of that, and offer support on their forums, instead of pushing 'emulator' talk to the sidelines and banning users, you would see a ton more millions sold, and it might become even more popular than PlayStation, instead of just almost beating Nintendo! :)
