    - Connect a FAT32 USB drive to the front ports of the PS3.
    - Uncomment this line in the cobra.cfg:
    Code:
    disc.unsupported=ignore
    - Start the Manager (this won't work on the Browser).
    - Switch to the disc you want to dump (also unsupported discs can be dumped when switched when the manager is running).
    - Press triangle.

    After it's done you can use the Easy Batch Generate/Merge COBRA ISO's Tool (Including OFW 4.55 ISO's + Swap Disc) to merge them again into one ISO file.

    Known Issues:
    I've seen crashes after it's done dumping, you need to hard reboot the PS3 to get it to work again.

    Didn't work for me. When I eject the supported disc I get this:

    image.jpeg

    When I insert the unsupported disc, the screen remains the same. Any suggestions? You know how bad I've wanted to dump my discs.

    Sorry forgot a step in my tutorial, you need to uncomment this line in the cobra.cfg:

    Code:
    disc.unsupported=ignore

    I figured it had something to do with the config file. Glad I could troubleshoot your tutorial. :p

    I'll give it another shot and HOPEFULLY I can FINALLY dump my discs! :)

    That did the trick! Thanks SDeath! :)

    Your welcome Grant. Beware it'll probably crash after the successful dump!
    Shutdown the PS3 by holding down the power button 20 seconds, and unplug the power, than plug it back in.
    It's a known bug to the team.

    A successful dump and no crash! Worked like a charm. I assume I don't have to worry about an IRD file when it's my own disc dump? :)

    Well the IRD file also makes sure all encrypted sectors are created and thus is a 1:1 copy when you use the IRD file.
    But although the lag in video's and cutscenes is gone it's still slower than a non IRD iso.
    So it's up to you to decide, but I will play my games without IRD I like fast loading times. And the ODE is 50% faster loading than the BD of the PS3 itself. So yes I made up my mind. =-)

    I check mine against the IRD, but generally build without as you're right, it is faster. Plus I generally don't play online.

    Remove the # in front of the line.
    BluRay movies cannot be ripped with the PS3 and the ODE.

    Buy a BluRay reader for your PC, it just can't do it.

    So you uncomment the line in the cobra.cfg. You boot up the PS3 like normal with a supported bootdisc. Then enter the manager, switch the disc to the unsupported disc. Wait 5 seconds before the screen refreshes and then press triangle. And it doesn't do this?

    yes and no :p :D the transfer rate is somewhere between 3 and 8 MB/s so it should take about 45 minutes... But since this is an unpredictable tool (and doesn't even work for some users every time...) if it worked don't worry :D

    Hello SDeath,

    If you are dumping does the external harddisk to be in FAT32. Is NTFS not supported?
    And if so why? Has this to do with the ps3?
    The Cobra Ode is however working with NTFS usb disks.

    Thanks,
    Rato
